People claimed Obito wasn't trying his best, but neither was Kakashi. He could've used other techs, along with Obito.

They had a fight, 1 on 1, which we got to see the full thing on, and Kakashi won. Obito neglected his skills, and Kakashi did the same. This is how you measure the true quality of a shinobi. Kakashi finished him off, fair and square, and that's all there is to it.
