Tobi, the man behind the mask is more than one person. In other words, I believe he is 2 seperate people at once.
How did I come to this conclusion? Well, if you watch the scene where Sasukes eye activated Itachis Amaterasu on Tobis right shoulder he cries out in pain and dances around in a panic before he falls into the shadows and comes back out seconds later seemingly unharmed. You think oh he just did his space time eye technique and escaped the flames somehow and then comes walking back out. But if you observe closely you can see that when he walks back out into the candlelight his outfit is slightly changed and his body seems to have become more aged and droopy (and even appears to be slightly shorter). And he automatically says "Not even Itachi knew everything about me. Otherwise I'd be dead" as if to imply he had more than one body to kill. Then if you fast forward to the episode where Sasuke is having his emo hissy fit fighting against the Raikage Tobi pays a visit to Naruto, Yamato and Kakashi and when Kakashi asks him what his goal is he says it's to "become a complete being".

Now, WHO Tobi is is a completely different mystery. As for now I think I may have unlocked atleast another aspect of his being

I'm thinking like that too, i thought he has Madara's Will. When madara dies he obtained rinnegan according to manga. He created something like Special of Zetsu from himself with Hashirama's cell. And gave him a his(madara'S) will. Then this Zetsu has 2 personality Madara's and himself. So he can able to give rinnegan who would be able to use powerfully. Because Edo-Madara knows about Nagato and plans to revived by Rinnegan. Then this clone waits for hashirama's death/became so weak and Capture him to create another zetsus but they don't have Madara's Will or any uchiha DNA. Just black Zetsu i thougt he was tried to create some clone like himself but failed. Because they are seems very close relationship too. Then Tobi wants to do it by just himself. Because he has Madara's ambitious at least. So Madara said that "things arent going according to plans."

Yes he lost the light of his left eye, but he removed the whole eye, and implanted a new one, which he used against Konan.

2. Its a nice theory, but a bit farfetched. He could have simply turned intangible, transported it away or used his left eye for Izanagi, then replaced with one of those dozens of eyes.

So, then tell me which Senju could he possibly be? Neither of the first 2 hokages, they're all sealed in the Reaper(and they were confirmed dead anyway).
Who else is senju that we know about?

One more thing. There was no way that a non Uchiha would have been able to use his sharingan in a way that let him completely control the 4th Mizukage for such a long time. There are very few pure bloodline Uchiha's even with the Mangekyuo who have such mastery over sharingan genjutsu, to say that a Senju or Uzumaki could do something like that is impossible, i'm afraid.
