You also seem to have a possible idea of who Tobi is.
There's been several ideas like Tobi being Obito which was proved wrong when Minato was shown fighting a fully grown Tobi.
Tobi being another Zetsu with a transplanted sharingan and now Rinnegan: it's proof being what he's pretty much been shown to be made of.
Tobi being Madara: proved wrong by Madara being summoned via Edo Tensei. Still some theories though that it might be a Zetsu clone of Madara.
Tobi being the Sage himself: Lost hope in what humanity has become and tends to bring peace even if it meant casting a genjutsu on everyone. Said he'd become a shell of his former self since he said he gave his Rinnegan to Nagato and was planning this entire thing out with Madara as well. Able to create a form and breathe life into it (Zetsu) and is using Hashirama's and Yamato's bodies to strengthen his Zetsus. If the tailed beasts are able to notice the Sage by his chakra, then it would be proven wrong since they would've noticed that it was the sage himself. If nine-tails only noticed Madara by Madara attempting to summon him, then I would say it could be possible too.
Tobi being the Older son: Reasons were given but I don't really remember what they were.

I would just like to point out where the hell did you see Danzo and Tobi talking about the Uchiha massacre? Where the hell did you get this? When did Danzo ever tell TOBI that Itachi probably wouldn't massacre his whole clan and him telling Tobi to join in.

Another thread on Tobi, although more focused on his physical body than who he really is. The Tobi-Zetsu construct theory!
You're probably thinking "blah blah blah another Tobi thread/I know all this stuff already you pedantic cupcake", but I humbly ask that you read the whole thing
People who don't believe that Tobi is Izuna or the S06 paths elder son say these characters couldn't have lived as long as they did and still be in the manga's current time setting.
It's strongly hinted that Tobi has some of the bodily qualities as Zetsu, maybe this is how he prolonged his life?
Tobi's right hand is obviously made of something gooey/fake (common-knowledge)
This shows Tobi in front of some sort of Zetsu structure with slime on his hand. He seems to be repairing himself!
Revealing Tobi's other hand (NOT ONLY HIS RIGHT) is also made of gooey Zetsu
Furthermore, I'm thinking a large portion (at least both his arms as we've seen so far) of Tobi's body is Zetsu composed while the other is Tobi's real human flesh (similar to Sasori's "heart" in the puppet). The real flesh is what gives Tobi his memories/personality, and he wears a mask because he probably looks like an ugly motha ****** with a half Zetsu face.
This shows how the right upper part of Madara's face is human-esque.
Is the other half of Tobi's face made of Zetsu? This would explain why it's shown as pitch black (too ugly to see?) and why he would wear a mask. It may also explain why Tobi only has one eye-hole over the human part of his face despite clearly having two Sharingan.

at this point i dont care at all about who or what tobi is anymore kishi streched it out to long and ruined it imo i mean when it finally comes out itll be nice to know whats up but till then whatever it not even on my mind anymore

I get the feeling that when we return to the Naruto v Tobi fight that his identity will be revealed, since his last dialogue before we shifted towards Sasuke seemed to indicate it.

Another thing that's building up towards the reveal is that the entire shinobi army is heading towards where Naruto and co. are currently fighting Tobi.

What could happen is that we'll see more of the Kage fight right after the conclusion of the Kabuto fight (where hopefully they get Kabuto to release the Edo Tensei)
Before Madara is sent back, the Kages may ask him why there are two Madaras or who the heck Tobi is. Madara may pull some kind of pity/last stand thing and tell them.
Or if Kishi is an ***hole, he'll have Madara say "He's...", then cut to Tobi V Naruto where the shinobi army will just be arriving. Tobi will then preach about the worthless world etc etc and begin to take of his mask and....

Just a thought, but what if the Elder Son tried becomong the Jinchuuriki of what remained of the Juubi, but the Juubi's soul took over and corrupted the son, turning him into pure evil, or pretty much Tobi?
