TOBI = Zetsu incarnation/clone of Izuna Uchiha
Well its been confirmed that the Mask Man known as TOBI is not Madara Uchiha.
However did Izuna really die on the battlefield?
we know a few things about TOBI
1) For some twisted reason he's nothing but a zetsu clone rolling around with a sharingan and rinnegan eye
2) he has tons of insight into the abilties of sharingan and rinnegan...and the uchiha past
3) He knows about the infinite Tsukynami
The first clue is that TOBI said he was a "shell of his former self."
AND
"he is no one"
FOLKS HERE IS THE NAIL IN THE COFFIN:
HOW IN THE HECK DID TOBI KNOW WHAT TRANSPIRED BETWEEN MADARA AND IZUNA. HE HAD TO HAVE BEEN THERE AND IF HE AINT MADARA...THEN HOW DID HE KNOW ABOUT THIS MOMENT:
There's only 2 possible scenarios
1) He completely lied about the whole thing
2) He lied about being Madara Uchiha to cover his true identity about being Izuna Uchiha.
He knew in detail the events of what transpired between Madara and Shodai. He also knew the events that transpired between Itachi uchiha and the village.
THE KEY WORDS HERE ARE: WHAT DID MY BROTHER SACRIFICE HIS EYES FOR???
It's a statement with emotional attachment.
THE LAST CLUE IS THIS:
DO YOU KNOW OUR PLAN..
IF WHAT TOBI SAID WAS TRUE AND HIS BROTHER DID GIVE UP HIS EYES IN ORDER TO FURTHER THE UCHIHA CLAN. THAT MEANS MADARA AND IZUNA THE TWO BROTHERS WHO ONCE RULED THE UCHIHA CLAN
PLAN TO PUT EVERYON IN THE INFINITE TSUKYNAMI.
It means Izuna is on Madara's side.
It means the brothers are planning to take over.
It also means TOBI IS IN FACT UCHIHA IZUNA.
However he may not be Uchiha Izuna completely revitalized. Izuna somehow cameback with the use of this:
Zetsu...clones...are a variation of it....
It would also explain his reaction seeing Madara in his coffin.
He saw his long lost brother.
Lastly were reading a manga that has immortality jutsu, edo tensais, 7th path (life path), modifying ninja
What I think what happened. Is that Izuna did die but Madara took the first Hokage's DNA and created zetsu and Izuna zetsu
This is why they have this:

...Izuna...took the sharingans from the Uchiha massacre... He found out about the rinnegan. He gave the rinnegan to pain and had him create the akatsuki. He then instructed them to gather all the tailed beast under false information. Used them and now is now trying to enslave humanity with the infinite Tsukynami.
The reasons are for revenge and hatred.
If this theory is true it would support the "no one" ideology by TOBi. After all he just a clone with Izuna's dna running around finishing what the originals could not get done in their lifetime.
The reason why I don't think its a Madara zetsu clone is because TOBI does not have the MS. or EMS.

If this is true and they are on the same side.... then explain why neither of them were happy to hear about the other one when edo madara was brought back... doesn't sound like two people that are on the same side to me

How did TObi know about the conversation between Madara and Izuna. How did he know about Madara's meeting or his descent from the clan.

i still think tobi is madara, not madara itself,but his clone created from mixing the madara`s DNA with Hashirama`s.Zetsu had sth to do with that.Madara was probably dying and created his clone tobi to continue his work,gave the rinnegan to nagato and blabla..... But you could be right though...

If Madara unlocked the Rinnegan just before he died he revived izuna. Kinda out there but possible.

I think its because the manner in which madara was revived wasnt how they planned.

Thansk I can see why people disagree I did not provide more evidence but I'm 95% sure TOBI is a zetsu incarnation of Izuna.Good theory

Also I think Madara isn't fully in control of himself, reason being. I think Kabuto was controlling him to use Mokuton, which is why Madara was a tad confused when this happened and suprised when he seen his chest. Thats why he said "so that's why... You've certainly prepared well"
Main reason being, edo Madara will be under the control of Kabuto

Could prove to be true. Tobi betrayed Madara when he chose to create his own plan - The Moon's Eye. I think they're gonna clash sooner or later.
