Assuming that the "spoilers" that were leaked not too long ago were true (this particular one regards Zetsu. If you dont want to know, dont read the spoiler tag).

The spoiler im referring to claims that the black portion of Zetsu is made of Madara Uchiha's DNA, while the white half is made of Hashirama's DNA.

Assuming again, that this is accurate, it does make sense to me that Tobi is a full fledged Zetsu body BUT one that is completely made of Madara's DNA, and not half. This would excuse the: Zetsu body infusion; knowledge that Madara possessed; knew Madara since he is technically Madara; would have the same memories as Madara, meaning he still could have given Nagato the Rinnegan, but the actual Madara, not the Tobi one.

But again, thats just assuming there is any truth at all to the spoiler.

I still think Tobi is Izuna. It seems clear to me because of itachi and sasuke. Itachi the older brother loves his little brother so much and sasuke ends up being the evil one. Tobi claimed that izuna "gave his eyes to madara" and was not forced. I believe that madara had the same feelings toward his little brother Izuna. Tobi = The Other Brother Izuna. It would also make sense to me if the little brother Izuna turned out to be more evil than Madara. I believe that Izuna gave Madara his eyes and that Madara gave an eye back to Izuna. This leaving both of them Possessing Eternal. In every image of Madara Prior to when he is seen undead on the battle field (Upgraded), he is seen only with one eye. Which eye is that? his left eye. Tobi is seen with his right eye Most of the time. We also see at one point, Tobi has a vast collection of Sharingans. He knows very well how to transplant eyes. It is my belief that his "regular sharingan" is actually an eternal sharingan. He just casts the illusion that it is "normal." This would make sense because the stone tablets keep revealing secrets the more your sharingan progresses. How else could tobi read the stone tablets with more knowledge than a person with mangekyo? I am also under the belief that when both madara and izuna (tobi) had 1 eternal eye, they were able to take other transplanted eyes and progress them to the same level.

Side note --- So6p --- elder son ---> "special rinnegan" (different from normal rinnegan)
left the stone tablet to the uchiha.

In regards to Tobi's identity, I have the following thoughts that may or may not hold water. I had been looking at the folks who were pursuing peace through power and I don't believe it was a coincidence that all of these folks had direct contact with one another. Hanzo, Danzo, Pain were all motivated by a warped view of "peace" and even Itachi abandoned his pacifist ways and wiped out his own clan to ensure peace in the leaf village. . My first clue-in was Hanzo. How can this guy take on three legendary Sennin in their prime. How can he pull a body flicker technique so fast it escapes Gedo Mazo mid-attack ? Then he gets defeated as an Edo by an aged Mifune? Hanzo couldn't even remember who Mifune was, despite specifically asking for his name when he spared him. Even Mifune was like, WTH?!? That didn't seem like the Hanzo he had fought before. Also when Pain killed Hanzo, Hanzo struggled to remember Yahiko. Nagato expressed his surprise and dissapointment that this once formidable foe had declined so much.

In an effort to shorten this post I will spoiler tag the remainder.

Another item that got my curiosity going was when Tobi warped Danzo's bodyguards Torune and Fu into his pocket dimension. Tobi felt these two might be useful but then later sacrificed them to learn Edo Tensei. Why did he think they would be useful? I think it was because of their abilities. One can infect folks microscopically like a virus the other could transfer their consciousness. Potential for experiments based on Tobi's own similar abilities, or hosts if needed? Whatever the case, this idea of "peace" has been able to jump (tobi) from body-to-body much like a virus, and embed itself in the mind of the host.

Tobi's current host will probably end up being Izuna but it's the conscioussness inhabiting is the real issue. I believe Tobi is really the dark side that Naruto cast aside in gaining control of the Kyuubi (or Kurama if you prefer)? Kurama can recognize him and Dark Naruto said, if there was one mistake he had made it was letting the Kyuubi catch site of him. This means that Kurama can identify him. The Darker side wanted to grow strong and show his would be torturers that he was powerful and that they were weak, while Naruto's other half chose to forgive those that tortured him. Later when Naruto rid himself of his darkness and confronted Kurama. Kurama asked where the real Naruto was. It was like dealing with a completely different person. As Naruto becomes the So6P, the eldest son may refer to the his "Darker Side". Naruto's choice forgive separated that Darkness and because of this his darker side may be the reason for all of this misery. In chapter 573 we also saw that Tobi was unnerved when he confronted Naruto, and Naruto revealed that he knew the tailed beasts names. This is probably because he is no longer privy to all of Naruto's knowledge. He even says "that face". Take a look at the panel preceeding that then compare with the Dark Naruto conflict

. Look similar? Both of them occur when Naruto is taunting an enemy who seems to know everything about him, but he is showing them they don't and their reactions is the same.

Another item that ties together both the protagonist and antagonist is that both Naruto and Tobi have an ability to "change people", Tobi was curious how Naruto was able to convert Nagato and wanted to see first hand the person that had caused Nagato to betray him, so he went to Naruto's inn during the Kage meeting arc to converse with him. This would have been an ideal time for Tobi to take Naruto out since only Kakashi and Yamato were there. Why didn't he? I believe he didn't because he needed the timeline to proceed to his own creation. Another theme that ties them together is that both Tobi and Minato have space time Jutsu, and while Minato is not the protagonist, his son is. As the story progresses, it appears that Naruto is going to learn FTG or a derivative. There is also the Uzumaki chakra chains that Tobi created that are identical to Naruto and Kushina. There was also Tobi's inability to phase through Naruto's head which resulted in a headbutt. This confused Tobi and may be a way of acknowledging that once Naruto had expunged his dark consciousness, it won't coexist with him in the same space any longer.

We should also consider what the Sage Toad said to Jiraiya "You will have a disciple that will either save or condemn the world". Since every known disciple of Jiraiya's is dead and sealed, we know that disciple is Naruto but step back and analyze that statement from a writer's perspective. Why would you have the negative there? You could just as easily say to Jiraiya "you will have a disciple that will save the world." So the fact that it is mentioned means that the writer is going to use it, and that it is a main part of the storyline. Couple this with the fact that no one had perfected Sage Mode except Naruto. Was So6P not a Sage? (rhetorical question) We can guess that Naruto is the So6P not his reincarnation. So6P is not foretelling the future but is talking about his own past. Now Naruto may not be there yet. He may need to combine elements with Sasuke (yin/yang) but you get the idea. The condemning of the ninja world could potentially occur if Tobi re-integrates with Naruto and he pursues his own version of peace.

Finally, there are hints like Minato saying that as long as a Ninja System remains there will probably not be any peace. Jiraiya saying that someday he would have a student that would erase his past mistakes. Tobi saying this War will make all pasts presents and futures irrelevant. Even Kyuubi says to Naruto, if things are unbearable then he should "Erase Everything" and you can see where this is headed.

So anyway, that's what some guy I met in a bus line told me once.

The Madara, Tobi & Black Zetsu connection

Madara:

Fights 1st hokage
Gets away
Acquires Senju DNA
Uses that DNA to create Zetsu
His goal was to obtain the senju powers.
He learned that Zetsu has crazy healing\restoration powers cuz of the senju power.
Madara repaired himself as much as he could using the senju power.
Madara used Zetsu and tried to revive Izuna.
Izuna's body was re-animated but he was not able to pull the soul from the afterlife.
So Black Zetsu was created from Izuna corpse + White Zetsu.
White Zetsu is purely the senju power and that's why it is mass produce and black zetsu isn't...

I think that the Black Zetsu is Izuna (might not know he is Izuna) because:
-He can record battles, seems like a sharingan power to me <Maybe even his MS ability because he is able to share the fight with Tobi\Masked man>
-He claims to be "made of the Earth" - A corpse buried in the ground starts becoming earth (circle of life) as well as White Zetsu being made from senju DNA which seems to have earthly characteristics and qualites.

White Zetsu is mass produced and nothing more than senju's powers being manipulated and controlled by Tobi\Madara

This also explains the two parts of Zetsu splitting, and 2 personalities. Perhaps the black zetsu shows similar character traits to Izuna.

Madara lived a long time. I think he was alive when Nagato was born, but was close to dying.
I think Madara created Tobi using white Zetsu and his body (after his death) in order to carry on his moon's eye plan.

I believe Madara's goal was to go to the afterlife and trust his Tobi creation and Black Zetsu to carry on his will.
Madara unlocked the rinnegan close to or soon after Nagato's birth.
Since Madara was old and severly weakened from his battle with the 1st, he wasn't able to advance and use the rinnegan as much as he wanted to.
His work around was plant the eyes in Uzimaki Nagato (good choice in Uzimaki, and Tobi has complimented the Uzi clan many times)
Tobi would manipulate Nagato as well as monitor Nagato's growth and usage abilities with the rinnegan.
His ultimate plan was to be revived by Nagato later with a newer stronger body.

At this point Madara and Izuna's souls are both in the afterlife.

Tobi is Madara's body and most of his will - living because of Zetsu powering (How many times has Tobi said he's a shell of his old self :D, body with no soul = shell)
Zetsu is Izuna as explained earlier.

As we all know, the plans of being revived by Nagato failed.

When Madara first came back, he instantly noticed something wasn't right. Of course that was because he was revived by Kabuto.
I think Madara was suprised because his body was in it's prime as far as health\strength, yet he also had the rinnegan.

But your reply was expected by myself as this site is crawling with "one-liner" replies that have nothing to do with the original post.

tobi is to strong and to smart to be just a will or something like this..when madara popped out he sad "HIS" doing if tobi was his will he should be saying "MY" and his similarities with zetsu can be enchantments to his body..

tobi is somehow stronger and maybe smarter than madara..his teleporting, intangibility ability to suck people are insane and madara treats him with respect.

My guess is that he could be the brother of sage of six paths or something like that, it will be a waste of plot and imagination to be madara's will and kishi has imagination.
