I believe Tobi is Madara's brother resurrected by the 2nd Hokage using impure world resurrection to help the 1st defeat Madara. he does not have the same gray tint to he's eyes as those resurrected by Kabuto because the summoning has changed over time remember how the eyes of the 1st and 2nd where different when Orochimaru resurrected them to fight the 3rd. Tobi is always saying he is not at full power if he was resurrected with an incomplete form of impure world resurrection that would explain why. Furthermore when Kabuto came to Tobi to join force Kabuto knew exactly who Tobi was probably info passed down to him from Orochimaru who went thought a bunch of Konoha's secret scrolls before he left the village. And why does Kabuto need Sasuke not Tobi? Kabuto said in manga 490 page 3 that he needed a living Uchiha. There are also a few things that are known about Tobi from what the resurrected Madara said. We know that Tobi was alive at the same time as Madara and that Madara like Kabuto knows exactly who Toby is. Also i do wonder why Tobi's Sharingan is ether in shadow or active. The only other uchiha who walked around with a permanently active Shareingan was Itachi. This was because Itachi was almost blind from his Mangekyo Sharingan. If Izuna, Madara's brother, was resurrected by the 2nd Hokage with an incomplete impure world resurrection would still probably have the blindness from his mangekyo he had in life. Tobi might even had the blindness without the Mangekyo because truthfully we have never seen Tobi use any of the ability that the Mangekyo is needed for. And why would the 2nd Hokage bring Izuna of all people back to life? We all ready know that the 1st Hokage had help in his battle against Madara remember Mito help him by sealing the fox inside her. It is not to far fetched that the 1st's brother would help to. And who would be the best dead ninja to fight Madara? Who would know Madara's fighting style the best, be a counter against Madara's Shareingan, and attack Madara physiologically? The answer to all these questions is Madara's brother. If the 2nd used his own blood in the summoning then thats probably why Tobi has both uchiha and Senju blood in him which is a requirement for using izanagi. At the end of the 1st's and Madara's fight what happened to Izuna? Well the impure world resurrection was so new that the 2nd had no idea that sealing was the only way to end it. Therefor Izuna was put in a high security cell only kept at bay by the 2nd's will. Then when the 2nd died, because remember the killing of the caster does not stop impure world resurrection, Izuna escaped.

Can't be Shisui....Because Shisui died after the nine tails attack plus Itachi was a little boy when that happened so nahh....Can't be Obito because Obito has no reason to be evil and Kakashi was 13 or 14 when the nine tails attacked....Kagami...Idk...Just probably some dude Kishi just made up.....Izuna yea probably because it makes sense that Madara's little brother would call himself that.......So Izuna ftw

I'm not buying the whole izuna thing...if it was him brought back by the second i'd think it would be a little more known that he was around by at least the hokages or the konoha elders...that would simply be info passed down to keep the village aware and safe so those theories i think are far and away obscure...almost as bad as saying he's obito...the uchiha who was in hiruzen's squad though i believe is probably the best shot at actually being him or it's no one introduced yet in the storyline

The theory that claims Tobi is Izuna is pretty understandable. He wasn't revived by Kabuto even though his MS state was said to be on par with Madara pre EMS. Plus, the arm clinching thing can be interpreted as a supporting fact too.
He knows everything that is possible to know about Madara, that could also mean something.
I predict that Tobi is a creation of Madara, something that is made up of Madara's will or DNA or whatever. But I wouldn't be surprised if he turned out to be Izuna or something related to him too.

My guess is that it could be the Juubi's spirit, anyway Kagami, Shisui, Izuna, part of Madara, some random guy and Future Sasuke are theories i like. The one i despise the most is the Tobito theory, Obito is fodder and stupid while Tobi is an awesome, powerful and mysterious character.

My god I seriously can't understand how so many people think these dumb as hell theories about who Tobi is. Seriously...Obito? That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. He's ****ing DEAD. He gave Kakashi his left eye and his right eye was smashed by a huge boulder. Even if he somehow didn't die by some miracle (that doesn't have anything to do with Zetsu because that's equally dumb) he wouldn't have any eyes. Not to mention no one seems to say why he would turn into this evil person all of a sudden when he obviously wasn't. The reason why Kishi showed the whole Kakashi Gaiden chapters was to show how Kakashi got his Sharingan, that's it.
Tobirama? Even stupider. He got revived by Oro through Edo Tensei...so that means his soul was in the pure world, which means he was dead. And then he got his soul sucked into the death god by Sandaime, so he even further can't be alive now. He can't have two souls, he didn't somehow find a magical way to "trick" Edo Tensei into reviving a fake him while he was alive. Its stupid as all hell.

He made his dreams a reality, to make the tailed beasts, I'm sure he would've made sure there was nothing left of the juubi. The obvious advantage goes to Sasuke, with Kirin, but let's not forget Konan with the rainbow during her fight with Tobi.

Hm, perhaps it was due to the collision of the TBBs up in the air? You know, heating the atmosphere and all.
It might play an important part for Sasuke (reference to Kirin here), but I think he'll go with his MS powers, like Susan'o and Amaterasu. Guess we'll have to wait til next week then D:
