when considering possibilities on who tobi could be, shisui was always at the top to me, for these reasons mostly:

1. I think it's strange that he wanted to give his eyes away and then just die.

2. We know nothing about him other than that letter he wrote, but can we say we know his character and even his true motives based off just this? I don't think so, who knows how he was really thinking,

3. the mizukage said that it may be a connection between danzo using shisui's eye to control mifune, and the one used to control yagura.

4. when did itachi meet shisui? we know that shisui was in anbu, those three that itachi beat up said that itachi's words and actions started getting strange within half a year of joining anbu.

i agree with you, why just give up his eyes and die? what does that solve?

yeah thats also true, there is just as big of a cloud around shuisi and who he really is as a person as there is tobi.
look everyone needs to relize that itachi had the whole world and his broher even thinking he was just an evil sob who killed off his clan for no reason, why couldn't shuisi make his best friend in itachi think the whole time that he is a great person and really be evil? i mean obvioulsy the narutoverse is nothing but lies anyways

look everyone needs to relize that itachi had the whole world and his broher even thinking he was just an evil sob who killed off his clan for no reason, why couldn't shuisi make his best friend in itachi think the whole time that he is a great person and really be evil? i mean obvioulsy the narutoverse is nothing but lies anyways

yeah, all lies, madara was once even presumed dead, but it appears that he lived for quite some time after hashirama since it seems he met nagato, but anyway, shisui is a big mystery, and we can't really say what his ideals were about the ninja world.

yeah and that's why i think shuisi stands at the top of the list because he is one of the only people that isn't proven to be dead either.

when he said a nameless shinobi i think he meant the fact that shisui did so much for the village and no one knew about it. there for he didnt get recognized for it and no one spoke of him as much. and besides itachi was there when shisui killed him self or whatever hes the one who helped. So shisui is dead and hes missing BOTH of his eyes, one to danzo and the other to itachi. So tobi cant be shisui since he had two sharingans.

tobi attacked konoha before shisui 'died' though, ie at that point he was still controlling yagura and has already comes across his s/t ninjutsu eye, while shisui had his ms with the kotoamatsuki or whatever juts. so the timelines don't match

i agree that, that's how itachi meant it. but i think it is just forshadowing becausee look 15 chapters later the title is no one, and tobi says he is a nameless shinobi.
also itachi said after shuisi gave him is eye he left to erase his presence from the world, he never straight came out and said he helped kill him. also if he did drown or itachi helped kill him his body should still be able to have been found by kabuto, things just dont add up

okay well first of all just because he didn't die yet doesn't mean it couldnt be him, could you tell me where he was durng the nine tails attack on the village? they never show where he is. dont you find that strange? someone with the ms and a superpowerful ninja not helping defend the village?

shisui is more then likely the same age as itachi if not just a little bit older and during the 9 tails attack they were too young to fight. kakashi is well older then itachi and even he couldnt fight cause he was too young.

LOL @ THE BATMAN THING. But nah dude shisui was like 8 years old lol i doubt tobi/madara was controlling a 8 year old he didnt even have mangekyo yet
