Perhaps Tobi has all of Madara's memories.

If Tobi is what we might consider 'a perfect clone' than perhaps he actually does share his memories. Perhaps he was also told that he wasn't the real Uchiha Madara. If that's the case, he would have a hard time identifying himself as anyone at all. But if Madara were to die, he could easily take over his name and legacy, and no one could really challenge his claim.

I think that is the best way to explain things. Tobi is a misguided, pathetic clone of the once great Madara. Without Madara around, Tobi can act all tough and powerful, but with Madara nearby, he becomes worthless, a weakling who is essentially..... no one.

So Tobi is basically still Madara imo, but also him being no one is also kinda true.

Totaly agree , maybe few months ago , it could have been easyer to point out or guess Tobis identity , but plot has developed , so have the characters IMO..But we can agree , that Tobi somehow admires Madara and on the other hand admires Hashirama , knows something about Juubi and Sage..and their sons.

He sure knows Shinobi history and how it has affected the course of it.

He might share the same memories with Madara somehow.

I didn't think he was Izuna for SURE. I'm sure that he's either Izuna or Obito. Probably Obito. All I know for sure is that Tobi is definitely only one guy. Why? Because, Tobi always has the same eyeshape, same voice, and same powers. Plus, what's the point of the mask coming off to reveal one of like, what 3 TOBIS?! Come on, man. There's only one masked man.
