i had that in mind for a while but come to think of it, itachi does not also deactivate his sharingan except in bushin when he uses mangekoun and the present sasuke also does not deactivate his sharingan also
do you want to tell me that maybe naggato has his reinnegan transplanted since in a certain time he never did deactivate his reinnegan? cos we all remember when he was young that he used the doujutsu only when he was in trouble

Well if you think about it, Nagato never deactivating his Rinnegan does add on to the "Tobi gave him his eyes" thing. We don't know if that's true yet, nor do we know if Rinnegan can be deactivated (like Byakugan) so we're just gonna have to wait for answers through the manga.

All most all transplanted eyes never deactivate, including nagato. Although I have seem madaras eyes deactiveted after his were transplanted.

nagato was an uzumaki,not an uchiha
so nagato's rinnegan is transplanted by madara and tobi
(remember when madara said something like this when he came out of coffin:it would appear that brat nagato managed to grow)

How do we know he can't deactivate it, Itachi went around with his sharingan activated like all the time.

Deidara probably just didn't care enough to peep into his mask. If Tobi only decided to keep his sharingan activated all the time after most of Akatsuki died that would be a little strange.

Kids calm down its not important if you can activate or deactivate sharingan... Also I hate the whole transplanting business -.-
Can make any character op just by giving him new eyes its stuuuuupid. If Naruto got the rinnegan transplanted into his eyes after beating pein the manga would be over already...

About that theory about Tobi being a Zetsu because of that white fluid against minato, well he could be, but only on that fight, let me explain. He was fighting Minato and then switched to a Zetsu clone (like Kisame vs Guy) for not risking his life, and Zetsu's clone of Tobi got hit. That explains the white fluid and doesn't make Tobi a Zetsu.

Why not? This would add yet another beautiful twist to the long winding ride the naruto saga is taking us on. Tobi has to hide his for some reason. and this is the last logical one that I can come up with. Why wouldn't he just kill sasuke or itachi and take their eyes? He knew Itachi was a trader to his evil team, why let him live?

Sasuke walked in right after Itachi killed them. Itachi didn't use his eyes on Sasuke until after Sasuke ran off.
