Tobi + Rinnegan

Just a quick question, why is it that Tobi only took one Rinnegan from Nagato instead of both?

Because the Sharingan has certain abilities like Genjutsu that the Rinnegan doesn't so it'd be more logical to have one of each. Also, I think his intangibility comes from his Sharingan so he can't throw away his Sharingan like that.

it's better to have one of each. If u think about it he wouldn't need another one cause he has all the abilities in one. But then he's got even more abilities because he gets the juts from sharingan and rinnegan

yeah , it does because think about the two most powerful eyes are in your possesion along with the abilities that they allow you to use

It might only apply to Tobi. Most characters sharingan don't have any abilities that surpass the rinnegan, but Tobi's sharingan seems to be unique.

Tobi's sharingan is too just too good to throw away. Besides, as far as we know, no rinnegan tech requires the user to have a rinnegan in both eyes. He just needs the one.

Likewise, we haven't seen Tobi use very many rinnegan techniques so it's also unknown whether he's able to use them all with only 1 rinnegan.

Tobi's s/t tech is tied into his sharingan. If he gets rid of his sharingan, he gets rid of his s/t tech abilities.
