Tobi/ObitoTheories: What, why and how and then some

So I think I have worked out the significance of Minato's face among the other Hokage but am hesitant to post it because it really could mess up the manga for some folks. I'm gonna throw a spoiler on this one so don't say I didn't warn you.

I've long maintained that Narutoverse is caught in a temporal loop. The head that doesn't fit the timeline is representative of a cycle in the loop. Much like Izanami certain elements may differ slightly like the accumulating feathers, what's being said, relative body positions, but the main points of the loop cycle continue unabated. This means the time of when Minato was named Hokage changed in one of the cycles and occurred earlier. This could also explain other inconsistencies. and I for one am relieved to know that Kishi is not just asleep at the wheel. That one was too obvious, no way it was overlooked. Kishimoto you beautiful beast, you better never play cards against me. (Who said your wish is granted? Smarta$$!).

This is interesting. Definately +rep for a unique theory. And I agree if you are saying he knew the fourth's head was on there, I mean you have his (future?) student standing right in front of it.

basically its pretty obv that its not the real obito. madara is using his body as a vessel. he knows all about the uchiha and about clans he has vast amount of knowledge so its pretty obvious its madara. what ive noticed in tobi is that the 3 times he got hurt it was always of the right side of his body where obito was crushed.

1st. minato rasenganed him and his right arm came off
2nd. when he fought danzos bitch boi and his right arm came off.
3rd. when he fought konan and got his right arm blown off.

a normal ninja would be like "omg my ****ing arm" but since that part of obitos body was probably regenerated by zetsu than tobi doesnt care to lose it cuz he'll just grow it back. he never gets hurt on his left side idk why but this is just what ive noticed. maybe hes not full zetsu and only his right side is.

so pretty much madara split his soul probably like orochimaru does and he created zetsu with his new found senju powers that he got when he finished fighting the first hokage and before dying put part of his soul inside of it. and since zetsu is weak he probably was just looking around for a nice body and found a young body with a nice eye than uses kamui. so he took it and fixed it up all nice and made his body grow somehow. thats why he was the same height as the 4th hokage when he fought him. it doesnt make sense for it to be obito because the real madara knows who tobi is and he wudnt know obito because madara died way before obito was even born. its pretty obvious madara created tobi. all those people that said tobi was obito you were right but its not obito obito its just a vessel sorry :/

You right Tobi isn't Obito, because that would imply that Tobi is pretending to be Obito, which isn't the case. So shouldn't the title be Obito isn't Tobi?

I just am reading past chapters and have learned to live with it till next week, although I believe he is going to switch scenes. He will explain it and we'll learn a whole bunch of stuff in the process, so I am just patiently waiting and excited.

People need to stop crying about Tobi being Obito. It was a nice surprise, and the clues were all there. Tobi... add an extra O and fix the letter... and you get Obito. Here's what I think:

1. I do believe that there were possibly two masked men. Obito would have been 14 during the nine tails attack. There is no way he could get as tall as the 4th in one year... and there is no way his skill level could sky rocket in one year after his supposed death. WE STILL DON'T KNOW WHEN THE REAL MADARA DIED!

2. Look at the Ame Orphans. Nagato got his Rinnegan as a kid, correct. Obito was not born yet. Yet, Obito/Tobi claims to have given Nagato the Rinnegan.

3. In one chapter (don't remember which one), but Itachi even said that Madara was a shell of his former self.

There has to be two masked men... or Obito is just one gigantic liar, lying to everyone to get what he needs (probable). Still doesn't make sense how he suddenly grew when he fought the forth, or how he has extensive knowledge of the past, or how he could have even known Nagato as a kid.

Final Statement and Question:
The 4th Hokage must have a been a terrible hokage (don't get made at me ). From what I remember, I read/heard somewhere that Zetsu used to eat the bodies of the fallen Akatsuki members to prevent secrets getting out. I also read/heard somewhere that corpses have a lot information on them. Keeping that in mind, why wouldn't the 4th Hokage and his team (Rin/Kakashi) remove the boulder from Obito and take the body with them?

With a body containing such a sensative item such as the Sharigan, you wouldn't want it to fall into the wrong hands.

And if I were Obito, and my team also abandonded me like that while I was still alive, I would be pissed XD!

It's just completely contradictory to Obito's character to hold such a grudge. He was happy to bless Kakashi with his ONLY good eye. I would agree with you on the part of there being two madaras/Tobis because Kishi is portraying them intentionally with long and short hair. The two characters however are overlapping. The long haired Tobi/Madara controlled the Mizukage which could have possibly been during the third ninja war. Where as the short haired one fought the fourth. Yet the long haired one helped with the Uchiha massacre.

The only thing is we haven't seen the long haired one's powers. he might not have S/T jutsu. The over lapping of the two portrayals is what is suspicious. Kisame recognized both as Madara, That is the root of my confusion and skepticism.

Loved your post NarutoVsGoku, but one thing to just to dot the i's en cross the t's, on this part:

so basically you admitted that you are again assuming, because no where in the manga does Madara says "I gave Nagato Rinnegan".. no where... no where does it shows that. what the manga does show is that Nagato activated it on his own... that is it.. it also shows that Tobi says that he gave Nagato the Rinnegan.. that has yet to be confirmed by anything else in the manga though. so please leave your theories and assumptions and speculations to yourself.....

I have to say that that can not be 100% confirmed, though it does look that way it can not be said for sure. reason is that we never saw nagato's eyes befor the moment he fist used them on those shinobi and then blacked out. his hair was at all times in front of his eye's, for him to have activated them they must have an inactive state aswel and that inactive state has never been shown in the manga. and after that first time we saw his eyes we always saw him with rinnegan.

True... Those with implanted eyes can't deactivate it. So that does lead to Nagato's eyes being transplanted since Madara can freely deactivate & switch between normal and EMS at any time..

We all saw kakashi black out when he obtained the sharingun and transplanted it right!?!? What I think happened is that obito unwanting to die used a special forbidden jutsu that transferred his soul into kakashi's body and vis versa........ When obito in kakashi woke ip he found minato and RIN right next too him and he just played along as kakashi. That's why he is always so sad......... Thats why he visits the grave daily.

However kakashi who is now obito stayed alive and as he was slowly dying he was able too activate the MS and phase through the rocks...... Filled with hate he tracked down obito who is now kakashi and was about to attack and that's when he heard obito who is now kakashi say to minato and RIN the truth........ However thinking that it was to late to do anything they just played along as well. Minato however stopped speaking to obito who is now kakashi, but RIN stayed in contact with him............ So kakashi who is now obito grew even a bigger hatred to not just him but everyone else as well....... Thus coming up with his plan to bring peace by genjustu.........

Edit: Sorry, but I haven't read every post in this thread, but what is the currently accepted explanation for how Obito could summon the Kyuubi during the Konoha attack?

Kurama was sealed throughout the duration of Obito's life, so when was the contract made (the one that Minato nullified)?

I love the outrage from some of the members here, I honestly don't care about the so-called plot holes and inconsistencies since this manga is nothing more than mindless, though enjoyable, entertainment. These last couple of weeks Kishi made it painfully obvious that Obito was connected somehow, but a lot of people still denied it because they made it their mission to make every Obito theorists lives a living hell for what exactly?

This is fiction where everything is possible, which the author himself just proved, so it would be stupid to close any door within the crazy Naruto universe without the same author explicitly stating so. Now they all look stupid and, honestly, every Obito supporter should gloat.

Personally, I never believed in it untill recently but no doubt about it being a possibility from the get-go.

You guys are all wrong by saying that Obito wasn't born before the Mizukage's body being controlled...
Kisame = 32 years old (when he died) = (+/- a year or two) Kakashi's age = Obito's age
When the Mizukage was being controlled Obito would be anywhere from 15-25, which is a pretty acceptable age. And besides, who said it wasn't Madara anyways.

Tobi is Obito and has always been. Madara didn't know Tobi (Even if we thought he had to). The first one I thought was Tobi was Obito but it felt more alright in the beginning when we didn't know that much about Tobi. Then I was kinda tricked because it became too obvious he was Obito, couldn't be Obito because he had to know Madara and was old etc, but I was more wrong the more I started analyzing

From manga 599 it's clear, 100% it's Obito, and you too should just get over it. I don't think it's even bad that he is Obito anymore because Obito could very well be Tobi. The plotholes are only still left in some of your heads, in reality all is explainable and will be explained in time.

Just one of those who didn't think it could be Obito due to "plotholes", but I admit I was wrong.

Its more likely when they made the manga they used a background that had been used in other pages and overloocked the error.

I cracked it.


Madara was not alive when Nagato had grown up.

But he knew of his existance.

This means he must have been alive during the second shinobi war. This means he was really old. And probably was dying of age.

But Yahiko created the Akatsuki during the third shinobi war when Nagato had grown up. So he couldnt have directly inspired him to do that.

The solution is therefore this.

Obito told Sasuke that during the massacre, he (Madara) was loooking to reuinite the flames of war.

Madara wasnt alive then, but its clear Madara didnt like the truce with Senju or the peace, he wanted war, so he must have messed up how the Bijuus were divided or something and started the second Shinobi war, that means he started indirectly Yahikos dream to make Akatsuki and the war that killed Nagatos family and the hatred that gave Nagato the Rinnegan.

Nagatos Rinnegan is thereofre not Madaras Rinnegan.

That explains it. Its like what i said like a year ago pff.

Im guessing that Madara went to exile, and used Hashiramas dna to experiment on, since he had the Rinnegan, he must have been able to use the Gedo Mazo, perhaps summoning it from the moon or whatev. He then created Zetsu, and maube black zetsu from his dna. By using Izanagi. Closing his own eyes.

He gave all of his information to black zetsu which can record stuff, then black zetsu gave the information to Obito.

So black zetsu knows everything. And Sasuke is gonna meet black zetsu.

Dont get why people are so hooked on Izuna, so you were wrong big surprise, its like people dont even know what Manga they read anymore, why would it be Izuna, how would that make sense? WOuld people really think thats fitting?



Obito said Izuna gave Madra his eyes, while all the others have been saying Madara took them.

He also said Madara gave Nagato his eyes while everyone said they were appearing by fate, by all the wars again.

Its likely Obito lied about Izuna giving the eyes to gain Sasukes trust, Its also likely he ment the war was started by Madara like he had started the 4th war. And thats what gave Nagato the eyes. Thats the most logical reason.
But i guess people here are not logical.
