I honestly don't see how people believe that every word that came out of Obito's mouth a Lie because he wasn't lying about everything. It wasn't a lie he just had to pretend to be his former teacher because as it was even stated in the Manga with the name Madara comes Fear.

See above he was pretending to be Madara. For those of you who don't understand what pretend means:

Like honestly who would really believe he was Madara if he went around saying " Yeah i got crushed by some bolders, but accidently use a form of kamui to slip through solid rock and met the real Madara, Who told me to pretend to be him but Nah, Imma just basically give away who i am. Surprise I'm Obito."

lol as funny as that would be I wouldn't have added to his character let alone, we wouldn't have gotten as much info on madara if he hadn't done that.

Point of this thread to sum it up, Obito/ Tobi isn't a Liar (To a degree), Yes He lied about being Madara and the Kyubbi being a Natural Disaster but What I'm talking about is the Background Information He gave us on Madara.

Note: I Apologize to the guys earlier who misunderstood what i was trying to say, basically I was trying to point out the fact Obito had to
1) Pretend to be Madara to get the Nations attention
2) Get them to treat him as a more serious threat
and
3) That he never lied about the background information he gave about Madara

Have you even taken a look at the definition of the word pretend before you so smugly tried to inform us? To deceive is to lie. To falsely claim is to lie. Damn it, everything else in there heavily implies that it's a lie. The children pretended to be cowboys; they are not ergo it is a lie.

He used lies and truth only when they were necessary to further his plans and to come closer to his goals, but that doesn't mean that he didn't lie about being Madara. He is not Madara. He is Obito. Why is this simple concept so hard to grasp?

Because the real Madara has been brought back to life a good amount of time ago? How easily do you ignore canonical events and information that's thrown in your lap for the sake of presenting a faulty argument as if it makes sense? By your logic I could say that the moon is only five miles away from planet Earth, and you wouldn't call me a liar despite very convincing arguments and facts like... It being obvious.

Yall make it seem like just cause Obito is the villian every other word has to be a lie, WOw Tobi=/= Madara but he told his background perfectly but I understand Itachi also made some statements on Madara but umm answer me this guys. Obito is the one who trained and knew Madara personally not Itachi. You can't use the excuse of two tobi's look at how old Madara looks when obito is still 12-13 thats what 10 years over Itachi; you honestly expect him to still be around 17-18 years later when the uchiha clan massacre happened. No he was long gone i'll bet on that.
So who you really going to believe Obito ( the one who trained with Madara) or Itachi

Dude, this just flew straight over your head. We know he isn't Madara that isn't what the thread is about, It's about all the back ground information he stated while he was pretending to be Madara. ( Maybe i didn't make that clear enough, If not then that is my fault and i apologize).

Just because it doesn't outright state "lie" in there doesn't mean that the synonyms for that word suddenly become a whole new word with the exact opposite meaning.
