Sadly, yes. Lord Sasuke's resolve to things are better in EVERY way possible. He's even thinking of tactics for his brother Itachi. How do you think he beat Danzo and Itachi?

I don't think most of Akatsuki cared about the whole peace thing. They joined for their own purposes, but in the end were used by Tobi to gather the bijuus.

Nagato - Used.
Konan - Followed Nagato.
Kakuzu - Used because he ended up capturing a Bijuu.
Hidan - Same reason as Kakuzu. And he killed off Asuma, if that even matters.
Itachi - Never had the balls to face Tobi while living; Not sure if he actually new that Tobi in Akatsuki was the "Madara" he was talking about.
Kisame - Used by Tobi. Led by hopes of peace. Captured a Bijuu.
Deidara - Captured a Bijuu, or two Bijuus. Not sure.
Sasori - Didn't contribute much to Akatsuki, wasn't really used.
Zetsu - Tobi's tool.



Here's a list of non-Akatsuki that were used by Tobi:
Yahiko - Created Akatsuki because of Tobi.
Sasuke - Almost caught a Bijuu, attacked 5 kages, killed Danzo.
Rest of Taka - Same as Sasuke pretty much.
Madara - This is a maybe. He apparently had something to do with Tobi.
Kurama - Does he even count? But he was used to bring forth Minato and Kushina's deaths.
Yagura - Completely controlled by Tobi.
Rest of the Bijuus - Do they count? Idk, but they're fighting Naruto.

Interesting rebuttal. While I agree on most of these the main reason Tobi even aquired these guys is because they were all highly skilled ninja with no where else to go. Also keep in mind used is a funny word - a lot of these people truly felt like they'd benefit, and a lot of them did it out selfish or pointless reasons, the main two being Kakuzu whom I mentioned and Hidan who just loved killing s**t.

Also keep in mind some people were never used by Tobi, in fact, they scared the hell out of him - mainly Itachi. Itachi only joined to keep Konoha safe and his eye on Sasuke. Tobi said himself if he hadn't kept certain secrets from Itachi he'd be dead.

While I'm saying Tobi isn't a genius or the best, he's above average - he's just not all that great.

Tobi is a villain and he has lied a lot in the series. We can't see his face. He's OP. There's a lot of reason for people to hate him. Yes he is smart, but people won't aknowledge that.

Its true that they had nowhere else to go. But that's why they were perfect tools for Tobi. And they did believe they would benefit, and they in fact did, which was perfect for Tobi.

And xd at Kakuzu and Hidan. While they did have their own interests, both contributed by capturing a Bijuu. Tobi was smart in staying in the shadows while letting people capture the Bijuus, instead of wasting his time and effort doing it himself.

I agree with the Itachi thing. He wasn't really used by Tobi...well except for being an anchor for Tobi to use in order to fuel Sasuke's hate.

Because Tobi told Kisame everything? And actually, Tobi still manipulated Kisame quite easily with the idea of a perfect world.

Itachi's only precaution was the Amaterasu on Tobi, and it failed. He also had that KA precaution in Naruto, but it was used on him, and therefore also failed. Almost none of Tobi's plans have failed.

I'd say Tobi's smarter than Itachi.

As for Kakashi, I'd say Tobi's smarter due to Kakashi having almost no knowledge on his techniques (no one does).

As for Shikamaru, I say Tobi because he's been alive way longer.

we have different views on the definition of "smart" experience-wise and knowlege-wise Tobi is probably the "smartest." but as far as intelligence and wits go, itachi, shikamaru, and kakashi are easily the "smartest"
