Narrator: At the same time Han was escorted to the Akatsuki layer, Kisame returned with his senior member, Itachi, to complain.
Kisame: PAIN!!!
Pain: I'm right here, no need to yell.
Kisame: WHAT'S UP WITH THIS GUY BEING MY SENIOR MEMBER!?!?!?
Pain lifted his hand, and before he could do anything, Kisame had time to say,
Kisame: Ho, crap.
Kisame was pushed into a wall of the cave.
Pain: I told you not to yell.
Itachi: He doesn't seem to be very strong; why's he in the organization in the first place?
Pain: It's his sword.
Itachi looked through his Sharingan at the scalely sword with burnt bandages Kisame had on his back.
Itachi: Why don't you just steal it and give it to someone stronger? Or wield it youself; you obviously have amazing power.
Pain: The sword tries to kill anyone it doesn't like.
Itachi: Why does it like him?
Pain: He killed it's original owner.
Itachi stood up from his relaxed stance.
Itachi: Give me a minute; that sword'll have a better owner.
Kisame made his way over to Itachi and Pain.
Itachi: Make that thirty seconds; half of it was walking over to him.
Kisame began to take a step backwards nevously.
Kisame: What's he talking about?
Pain: Leave him, Itachi. Now, I expect you two to get along-
Kisame: Why's he my senior officer? I was one of the first members; I've been loyal from the start!
Pain: This has nothing to do with loyalty, Kisame. It's about power! You were taken down in seconds with a single genjutsu; I had no choice.
Kisame: But-
Kakuzu: We're back, boss!
Pain: Itachi, take your partner somewhere else; I need to discuss the position of the Gobi with Kakuzu and Genzo.
Itachi: Come now, fish-boy.
Itachi began to walk out of the cave, when Kisame threw Samehada at Itachi's back. Itachi spun around, having seen it with his Sharingan, and caught it by the handle. As the spikes began to protrude from the handle to pierce Itachi, he tried to burn it with Amatratsu. The sword accepted the powerful chakra and began to calm down. Kisame walked up to his senior member and snatched the sword from him.
Kisame: I hate you.
Itachi: Your sword seems to love me.
The two walked away as Kakuzu and Genzo entered the cave, Han waiting behind.
Pain: Well? Where's the Gobi?
Kakuzu: We- We never found it.
Pain glared at the two.
Pain: If I were to go to the Stone Village, it had better be leved.
Genzo: We got distracted before we made it to the village.
Pain: With...?
Han: Me.
Han walked in and stood between Kakuzu and Genzo. Pain looked at Han, and then glared up and down the two Akatsuki members.
Pain: There had BETTER be a good reason for this.
Genzo: He nearly killed us.
Kakuzu: If he was a little more careful, Genzo over there would be dead right now.
Genzo: And you wouldn't?
Kakuzu: All of my masks were undamaged-
Pain: Is there a purpose to this conversation?
Kakuzu: We think this kid is Akatsuki material.
Pain: Really...?
Pain unnoticably examined the Tsuchikage's chakra in the armor, concealing the Gobi's presence.
Pain: Now, we don't just accept people if they can beat Akatsuki members an inch from death; we prefer it if you have a special ability, weapon, or some sort of Kekkei Genkai. Do you have any of these?
Han: I have the Steam Release Kekkei Genkai.
Pain: Steam Release?
Han: No relation to the five-tailed...
Gobi (To Han): Dolphin-horse.
Han (To Gobi): Really? Are you serious? That's just stupid!
Gobi (To Han): JUST SAY IT!!
Han (To Gobi): Wound pretty tight for someone who preaches 'Be calm'.

Pain: Let's see it.

Han released a large cloud of steam, making Pain's Rinnegan useless. Han's fist came through the steam, Pain unable to see it until it was almost too late. Pain just dodged Han's punch by half an inch as the steam cleared up.
Pain: Do you understand what you just did?
Han: Never let up on anyone. I can't give anyone an opening.
Pain: I'm the leader of the Akatsuki.
Han: I have no fear. I'm powerful, have a Kekkei Genkai, and have no fear. Is that not enough for you?
Pain glared at Han, and then looked at Kakuzu.
Pain: You can be partnered with Kaku-
Kakuzu: NO! You said I didn't have to go on missions for a while after this one.
Pain: Fine. Genzo, you can be this kid's partner.
Genzo: If you insist.
Pain: Now, you two don't have a long time to get know each other, as we have a new mission for you two.
Han: Mission?
Pain: You two,
Pain paused for dramatic effect, turning around to walk away.
Pain: are to locate, and incapacitate, the nine-tailed jinchuriki of the leaf village,
Pain stopped and looked over his shoulder.
Pain: Kushina Uzumaki.
