In real life Toads is commonly used as just other name for frogs. But for people that take taxanomy a little seriously, toads differ from frogs on the basis of more dry skin and having parotid glands just behind their eyes. I could give the whole anatomical view of toads since I dissected both a toad and a frog in biology class, but I don't think that is necessary.
In narutoverse toads are the summoning creatures that reside in Mount Myoboku.
Appearance :Shapes of toads in naruto are basically the same as a Real life toad. They have some sort of tatoos or patterns on their bodies. They also have different colors. Size varies from very small toads that can sit on the hands of a person to towering toads like gamabunta that practically was the same size as one tail.
Abilities :Toads might actually be the most powerful summons. They have a wide range of abilities. They are able to weave hand signs, perform ninjutsu, genjutsu and even some taijutsu like kicks and punches. They are able to utilize elemental jutsu like water bullets or fire streams. Good, now we'll first do the summons, and then we'll do the Toad Arts. All I want you to do is analyze the summons for me. They are all pretty straightforward in general.
(Kuchiyose no Jutsu: Gamariki) Summoning Technique: Gamariki
Gamakiri is a cool toad, with a feminine appearance and behavior. A bit bigger than a normal person, he can use Water up to A ranks, and Genjutsu up to B ranks, and also use Oil techniques. Pretty simple.
(Kuchiyose no Jutsu: Gamatatsu) Summoning Technique: Gamatatsu
Gamatatsu, son of Gamabunta, quite weird Toad, but is a warrior still. Similar to human size, he can fight in hand to hand combat and use Water up to A rank, and also use Oil techniques.

A mid level toad, wears some Samurai armor and somewhat of a personal Toad to Jiraiya. He has the summoning scroll (forgot to let you sign, but its fine). He's chill, and can use Kenjutsu and Taijutsu up to S rank, and of course, Oil too.

When he first appeared in the manga, Gamachu seems to strike the same type of pose as Jiraiya, as he would also seem to have become the personal summon of Jiraiya. This toad seems to be the keeper of the Toad Summoning contract scroll and unlike every other toad ever seen, Gamachu has not yet been seen talking, only quaking once or twice and mainly in the anime. In terms of appearance, the kanji on the necklace around his neck means "friendship," perhaps alluding to the fact that Jiraiya summons him in more relaxed situations. Only slightly smaller than a human, Gamachu is a very capable warrior specializing in Kenjutsu techniques. He can use both skills up to S-Rank as well as Strong Fist taijutsu (non EIG). Like most toads, he can use Oil techniques.

Slightly smaller than a human. This is a very useful summon. Apart from the norm of using oil techniques this toad can perform both kenjutsu and taijutsu up to S-Rank which is very useful.

The largest of toad summons. Gamabunta is a huge toad who is extremely proficient in Water release and in use of his sword that he can use to perform various attacks. Huge size and strength makes him immune to B-Rank and below ninjutsu. He can be used to perform various type of battle scenarios. Again as is the norm with toads he can also perform Oil ninjutsu.

So basically these are all toads that have a great knowledge of one particular element. they can all perform up to A-Rank jutsu in their specific element and are unaffected by up to B-Rank of that same element. These toads can stay on the field for 4 turns once they are summoned. There can be no other summoning for two turns after summoning a great toad.

Gamaken, a pretty big Toad, that is also warrior and carries with him, a shield and a sasumata. He is able to use Taijutsu and Kenjutsu, and due to his size, he's pretty much immune to Ninjutsu B rank and below.
(Kuchiyose no Jutsu: Gamahiro) Summoning Technique: Gamahiro
After that, we have Gamahiro. A giant Toad, a bit quiet and has prowess in close combat and wielding two Katanas. He can use both Tai and Kenjutsu, and is also immune to B rank and below Ninjutsu. Pretty bad ass.

Pink color toad. Similar in size to Gamabunta. Was seen in Naruto vs Pein fight. Is immune to B-Rank and below ninjutsu due to its huge size. Can use strong fist variation of taijutsu and can also perform Kenjutsu moves if he is given a sword, because his normal weapon is more suited to blunt damage rather than cutting and slashing. Like all other toads he can use oil ninjutsu.

Light blue color toad. Similar in size to Gamabunta. Was seen in Naruto vs Pein fight. Is immune to B-Rank and below ninjutsu due to its huge size. Can use strong fist variation of taijutsu and can also perform Kenjutsu moves mostly dual sword kenjutsu. Like all other toads he can use oil ninjutsu. He can also be summoned exactly on top of other summons to crush them.

Gamakichi is lit, he can use a giant Katana in battle, Water and Fire up to S rank, and also use Taijutsu. Pretty much the whole package, while capable of using Senjutsu as well, you can't access those parts of him unless you have Toad Sage Mode yourself.
( Katon: Endan ) – Fire Release: Flame Bullet
A simple technique, where you will form the hand seals and gather Oil in your mouth. You will then unleash the Oil, and ignite it. This creates a bullet of burning oil, which is pretty cool, and deadly.
(Ai no Uchi) – Smack of Love
Usable by Gamakiri (C rank) and Gamabunta (A rank), where they stretch their tongue to deliver a powerful blow, though it can also be used creatively.
(Kuchiyose no Jutsu: Gamakichi) Summoning Technique: Gamakichi

Very similar to his dad in both mentality and appearance, he stands at the same size as his dad. Like his father he also uses a giant Katana in combat. Capable of using Fire and Water up to S-Rank, he is also a good user of Taijutsu (mainly strong fist variations) and has a strength well above most boss summons. Similar to most toads, he can use Oil techniques. He apparently learned Senjutsu and is able to use Senjutsu attacks, much like The Two Great Sage Toads. If he is able to passively do it or if he is constantly in sage mode is not clear. However, his speed, power and the ability to infuse natural energy into his elemental ninjutsu techniques (effectively turning them into senjutsu techniques) makes him a formidable summon.

initially a very small sized toad but grew largely, as when he was summoned in Ninja War, he was at the same size as his father Gamabunta. A very strong and possible best summon of all toads. Can use both fire and water upto S-Rank. Can also use Taijutsu, which is mostly strong fist variation of Taijutsu. Also able to use a huge katana that he carries with him. Can also use Oil just as all the toads. Also I am assuming he too would be immune to B-Rank and below ninjutsu.

Flame Bullet|
This technique is basically a fire release technique but with more usefulness and perks. After the user performs Snake → Ram → Monkey → Boar → Horse → Tiger hand seals he using his own chakra creates a bullet of oil which he the fires towards the target. The bullet of oil is ignited. The more usefulness is due to the fact that this technique needs to be properly defended against. Just using a D-Rank water technique won't necessarily mean that it is done. As the oil bullet will explode once it is hit by water. Also the oil will keep on burning for quite sometime unlike fire techniques.
Smack of Love|
Basically just a powerful blow using the tongue. Can be used by Gamariki and Gamabunta. the rank and damage depends upon who is using this technique.

(Gamagakure no Jutsu) - Hiding in a Toad technique
A special toad is summoned which you can use to hide in. The toad's stomach has a special barrier that obstructs chakra, protecting the you from sensors.
(Gamayudan) - Toad Oil Projectile
Gather some Oil in your mouth, and spit it towards the opponent. This can hinder their movement, and is of course, flammable.
(Shukushō no Jutsu) - Shrinking Technique
Toads can use this to shrink their size, allowing them to escape some techniques and also be more mobile in a sense.
(Gamagakure no Jutsu) - Hiding in a Toad technique

Hiding in a toad technique|
Jiraya used this one in his fight with pein. Pretty self explanatory really. Just summon a toad and hide in it. The toad can dive in very deep fresh water. Water should be fresh and not oceanic. Plus even if toad stays on the ground user cannot be sensed while he is inside it because of a chakra barrier on toad.

User or the toad can throw a bullet of toad from their mouth on the opponent. Oil can hinder the movements and is also flammable.
Shrinking Technique |
Basically toads can just shrink in size and become small. This can be used to avoid certain techniques like say a technique that is going to hit toads head, but he shrinks and technique flies right over his head.

A technique where you will bring forth a Toad, a warrior type that basically comes in running. With him, he brings a katana. He's already running, so he's great to intercept an oncoming technique, or person. Pretty cool technique.
(Kuchiyose: Yatai Kuzushi no Jutsu) – Summoning: Food Cart Destroyer Technique
A technique where you summon forth Gamahiro from above the opponent. Pretty cool cause that is always a way he can be summoned.
(Futon: Gamayudan) – Wind Release: Toad Oil Bullet
With this technique, you will combine with Gamatatsu and perform a technique where he focuses his Oil in his mouth, and you unleash Wind, simulataneously, releasing a large stream of Oil, over a vast area.

Body Slam Technique|
Basically user summons a running toad who carries a katana with him. Possibilities are unlimited with this one since it can be used as a simple slam causing blunt damage. Or toad can point his sword forward and pierce the opponent.He can also be used as defense making him intercept the attack.
Food Cart Destroyer Technique |
User summons Gamahiro above the target, smacking them into the ground and making them immobile due to his weight. This technique is actually a way to bypass the summon of Gamhiro, in this way he is directly summoned and cause the damage. Also technique requires less chakra than actually summoning Gamahiro seperately, lol.
Toad Oil Bullet |
A combination technique, where user molds Wind chakra and Gamatatsu molds oil in his mouth. Both than release the oil and wind simultaneously to make a stream of oil towards the target. The stream in itself causes damage but oil can always be ignited to make extra damage. User has to be standing either above Gamatatsu or behind him to perform this technique.

Basically just a huge water bullet jutsu. User performs a tiger hand seals and releases a huge orb of water or 5 smaller orbs of water which can leave a large area covered with water. Can be both B or A rank depending on the chakra used. Can be performed by both the toad or summoner.
Toad Mouth Binding |
Jiraiya used this technique against Itachi and Kisame. So it is basically self explanatory and everyone knows about it.
Toad Oil Flame Bullet |
A combination technique that requires both Gamatatsu and Gamakichi. Basically just an extension to the previously learned technique. only this time Gamakichi adds fire to the mix and makes it more strong.
I have a question as to how will the opponent escape the toads stomach since it was said by Jiraiya to be pretty strong and only Itachis Ametarasu burned it, which practically burns anything.
