Another thing people like to put a spin on is the statement made in the data book about him knowing all justu of the village.

In actuality,he knows them as in knows of them,he did not LEARN all of them.

He has studied them all,its kinda one of the reasons his one of many titles is professor.

Yup.

Now, if hiruzen had been smarter, he would have been able to counter each element with the superior one (fire V wind, water V fire, etc) he could have killed spiral, and changed the battle from "6 people VS Madara" to "Litteraly thousands of people VS Madara", which would have definately turned the tide of the war (as in, no IT, no kaguya, kakashi keeps both eyes, etc)

but, he didnt. he used the same element, thus making him seem impressive while not making any difference to the war. he was unable to kill spirals statue thing, when backed up by A FREAKING ARMY.
