Amaterasu can eat chakra. It showed this when Itachi's ate through Sasuke's Katon and when it burned through Kirabi's Tailed Beast form, which is made of chakra. It just does so very slowly, so that ability is useless in a clash that lasts a few seconds like that one.

He, as B stated, deflected the attack, therefore he shifts a bit due to the clash. The words "deflect" and "dodge" have very different meanings.

Rasengan creates no explosion

Furthermore, that chakra is from the rasengan.. it was chidori vs Rasengan. Sasuke still had the chidori on him, while Naruto had the chakra of the rasengan.

Are you serious? I thought it was clear as day! The only reason why Naruto failed in finishing Sasuke off is simple, because Sasuke was able to land the first blow! Sasuke could of chosen to pierce Naruto in the heart, but he chose to hit his abdominal region. I'm not sure why were making excuses for Naruto. Since he was separating from Sasuke, all he could do was scratch the forehead protector.
