Yeah thats totally why Sasuke tried to end the fight quickly.. they were both at there limit there is no denying that.. So it would've been a tie. How would Naruto prove his point if they both knokced each other out? It wouldve been a tie and Naruto wouldn't have been able to prove his point. True but its not the same as going with the intent to kill.. Sasuke was going to do anything to reach his goal.. Naruto was just insignificant to him.. Naruto said tha to show Sasuke how far he's willing to go for his friend.
edit: Naruto could've summoned Gambunta so obviously he didn't go all out.

Hence why naruto had 1 in intelligence, he didnt even think of that...
Sasuke 2 didnt want to kill naruto and didnt, naruto was standing too much in the way so sasuke was pretty tempted lol

His shoulder is not showing its covered by his head like sasuke's is.. you act like his face or chest is so far away.. Like I said Sasuke was reaching for his chest while Naruto INTENTIONALLY went for his headband but you don't seem to get that.. they were going forward at each other they both could've delivered that final blow unless you seem to think that their momentum stopped and they just stopped mid air and just dropped down?

Sasuke infact did want to kill him.. there was two times he landed fatal blows for naruto if it hadn't been for the Kyuubi he'd be dead.
Naruto was also hesitant to fight Sasuke and he was holding back in the beginning.
Not really if that was true then that means Naruto was trying to kill sasuke and not bring him back.

edit: it was only after the fight that Sasuke changed his mind about killing naruto he probably thought about naruto just scratching his headband and not delivering a blow to prove a point that they're equal and that sasuke shouldn't look down on him

But your telling me he would have agreed to fight a 14 year old kid . That scanned proved nothing accept he agreed to let naruto be his henchman . and bunta was pissed cause he thought one tail attacked his son . he didnt take orders from naruto . I highly doubt he would have helped fight a kid . besides that the chakra needed etc . your whole argument is based on theories .not what happened in the cannon fight

Gambunta clearly states that he recognizes Naruto so at the point onward he would provide his assistance if needed.. Naruto saved his son after all so why not? No he didn't he did it with his own chakra he finally ran out of chakra when he was on shukaku's head he even says so and thats when he finally uses kurama's chakra. Yeah different fight different situation all together. Actually both their techniques cancelled out Sasuke uses his hands to pierce him.

Again, this is just an assumption. Kishi showed it, as he was able to mark his forehead. Not that he could have gotten a proper blow in. Naruto was never shown thinking about it when they matched blows. And if you hadn't noticed, Naruto's 1 tailed cloak had dissipated. CM2 & 3t Sasuke > Kyuubi chakra Naruto.
