Hell, the central plot around Obito masterminding the Totalitarianism of the ninja world revolves around the entirely-deep subject of "love interest got killed".

I kinda look past that matter when reading/watching Naruto.

There's more of that drama you described happening on the board than the actual manga. If you ignored everything here and went back to maybe chapter 612 and read up to now, we only just had a small break after a heavy battle, and there was no romance whatsoever.
