and anyone else who uses logic in this site. can you please aid me as I seek to answer the one question that is never fully answered on any forum.
-
How fast is goku in the Dbz manga(cannon) only.
-
I want to know because it seems like there are hundreds or theories out there that place Goku massively FTL to barely above sound speed, and then just above human reaction speed.
-
to be honest i can't really fault any of them because Akira Toriyama left the speed complete up to the readers comprehension and that being said it is highly inconsistent.
-
So can any of you please help figure out how fast dbz characters are to officially end the wank, and that i can get a solid calculation on Goku.
-
Because i am seriously getting annoyed at the range in his speed.
-
I only want speed calcs not durability or destructibility or even punching strength all what I want is the speed. lol.
-
So can you please help me out?

Massively FTL? nowhere near it.

Barely above sound? He was about 5 times above sound at the beginning of the series, he could missle time at point blank and Roshi cleared 180 meters so fast it appeared as if he didn't move, and he wasn't trying.

SSJ3 Gotenks had accomplished a feat of crossing earth 5 times where the timeframe couldn't be observed, calcing in at a confirmed Mach 31,076+.

Now, while no liable feats for goku in speed have came up to calc as most of dbz's speed is based off of disappear and reappear, powerscaling happens and Mach 31,076+ is the speed of Gotenks and Super Buu, Super Buu and Kid Buu should have AROUND the same speed (Super Buu is superior to Kid Buu, this has been debated for years just look up some of it, kid buu would not defeat super buu). Since you say canon, and goku at full SSJ3 is able to fight against Kid Buu, end of series goku is somewhere around Mach 31,076.

care to elaborate on that?

Because it sounds like numbers are just being thrown around there, and i would like to trace them, and isn't mach 31,076 above ftl?

It's not even the speed of light. Lol

Whoever said DBZ is FTL is trolling or doesn't know about speed.

He uses INSTANT Transmission, sooo its pretty obvious how fast he is.

Instant transmission isn't speed, it's teleportation, it's not viable.

And they're around relativistic by the end of the series, or there abouts.

Actually Light speed itself starts in like the Mach 200,000's, so no. Here's the calc of gotenks.
253,310,300 meters

Did a range for timeframe, but I sort of thought of something that can possibly give us a more exact timeframe using what we see on panel.

Note? The panel is an obvious time lapse.

What with the 5 loops still being visible, despite ki trails not lasting that long.

Oddly enough though?

Despite our fixed position above the planet? We don't notice it visibly rotate.

Thus, I offer up 2 means of trying to use that.

Namely, scaling from 1 pixel a distance we should have obviously perceived.

Planet on my computer being 240 pixels.

leaving me with a travel distance of 53,151 meters (found using 12,756,200 meters as the diameter of the planet)

Earth rotates at 463 m/s (easily found using the circumference and dividing that by the number of seconds in a day)

That leaves me with a timeframe of 114.797 seconds

Thus giving us a speed of 2,206,593.378 m/s or mach 6,484.449

Alternatively? I the rotation of earth kind of like that of a clock.

We can perceive the movement of a minute hand over the course of a second (which means we can perceive 1/3600th the total movement at least around the circumference)

Or about 11,111.111 meters

Leaving us with a 24 second timeframe

Which gives us a speed of 10,554,595.833 m/s or mach 31,016.474

Kind of a rushed explanation, but I have to leave for class... like now.

And I didn't want to forget this having just popped into my head.

So, I figured I'd post the idea and see if you ****ers understood what I meant and/or if it holds water.

Gotenks' Flight Speed (Low End) = 2,206,593.378 m/s

Gotenks' Flight Speed ("High End") = 10,554,595.833 m/s

It's not even the speed of light. Lol

Teleportation, and even then he only appears at light speed.

Sub-relativistic+. The only relativistic is SSJ4 Gogeta who was near exceeding light speed.

Thanks man that is awesome and a great explanation.

hey do you think Itachi is like mach 4? because i think his range is mach 2-14. but i think mach 4 is the most likely what do you think though?
-
if you can that is

contary to belief, IT is just teleportation. minato uses it. numerous cosmic marvel chars use it. even regular humans do if they build a machine capable.
goku's true movement/fight speed is massively hypersonic by feats and relativistic by PS.
how fast you can fly is veyr different to how fast you throw a punch. i wouldnt be surprised if goku only got to massively hypersonic fight speeds even in BoG

Okay, nope not massively FTL, at all, probably some retarded measurement, accounting it also depends on portrayal, how the author displays the speed of characters and their attacks, and thus they are scaled by the majority, why people scale speed in the fist place to grasp speed feat, moreover, u can't tell how fast a character is by just looking at them, even I can say Aizen is faster then goku cause he seems to be, that's usually not how it works, when u determine speed, u determine the distance, the time frame etc, being faster then the eye doesn't outright prove speed feats, nor does it automatically make u hypersonic, most people consider basing their thoughts on that,

the OBD and MvC have done some legit shit based on FTL claims from dbz, apparently the inconsistency of their attacks and via feat they have actually done nothing which indicates they're FTL (massively FTL is a bit too much), most the best impressive feat done in the DBZ was was that all the characters above him got the scaling, that was ssj gotenks feat who flew around the world five times, in a short time frame where the planets rotation couldn't be observed.

Which was what I believe above Mach 31,000, superior characters to him have the + sign which indicates they're technically faster, but to what extent, it's unquantifiable with no legit measure or basis.

i wouldnt be surprised if goku only got to massively hypersonic fight speeds even in BoG

Goku has basically done nothing that indicates as such, even bills, only whiss so far has displayed such a feat with his staff, bills and goku are above Mach 31,000, cause nothing has been showed so far which contributes their speed even further

hey do you think Itachi is like mach 4? because i think his range is mach 2-14. but i think mach 4 is the most likely what do you think

Itachi should be around Mach 70 now due to the reason the FRS was scaled to that, and also reacted to Kirin. Which is credible, Or even using the old FRS scaling he's still above Mach 20
