To be completely honest, I have no interest in manga.

There shouldn't be any need for me to explain why I read the Naruto manga, cuz I know YOU know why.

I was never into comic books growing up and I'm not that enthused about them now.

Frankly, I am amazed at how much I enjoy reading Naruto. There is no other story that could ever capture my attention the way Naruto does every week/chapter.

If DBZ was never made into an anime, it wouldn't even be half as popular as it is.

I guess you all are wondering if there is a point to all this babble..........

Well, there is..............

Black and white pages can only provide you with so much...........

When those pages are put into motion, when the characters and the action comes to life, that is when the story truly begins.

The manga>Anime. I find more enjoyment in picturing the voices, how a specific jutsu actually looks when it erupts. Like, how a fireball would move. And all that.

The anime tells me what to hear and see, like. Not creative option left! That, and I hate fillers.

I get what you're saying. If the manga and the anime were in the exact same spot, I'd watch the anime over reading the manga. I don't dislike the manga though, I like Kishi's artwork, Kishi does a better job at portraying characters sometimes than the anime does. I've always like comics though as well so to each his own.

lol i didnt watch much anime even when I was a kid never even watched DBZ or any of those other animes.

Then I started watching Naruto in 2007 before school(there was nothing else to watch) and actually got hooked. Then 2 years after I learned how to watch that stuff online and here I am now.

Also watched one piece all seasons during last mid semester break.

But yeah I agree manga rocks.

I think my anime and manga list are around equal. There are just some manga that I can't see rivaling itself in anime form... some mangaka are pretty dang good at what they do.

It's completely dependent on the Manga/Anime IMO. A manga may lack the "plot" of it all but the anime just makes it serviceable enough to enjoy. For example; I love DBZ. Always have, always will. However, as a manga in comparison to others, its plot wasn't as intricate but its anime was insane. The prospect of motion is far more intriguing than reading a book. If they were in the same situations (Anime and Manga being at the same points in time), then Anime would probably be better.

Reality> Your imagination

Also, the sound effects in the animation are better than anything you or I could ever imagine.

Agreed

Naruto is like the ONLY anime that has me interested enough to read the manga, took a while to get used to it too.

Not really, I have full control and warp whatever I want in my imagination to make it perfect, or as perfect it can be for me. And how would you know that I can't image accurate or good sound effects? Just because YOU lack the skill to read a manga chapter without being bored or adding your own flare to it doesn't mean that's the same for everyone.

I prefer the manga. The manga gives more room to imagine how a Fireball-Jutsu would look in motion, or how Madara's voice sounds. This adds fun for me.. I like to imagine how things are more than how it's "supposed" to be.. in regards to fiction at least. I liked imagining how Harry Potter looked, not having Daniel Radcliffe shoved down my throat. This may just be me, but I like the creativity aspect that the manga lets you explore. I do also like the anime.. not as much as the manga though. In the past, I would have said anime but now, manga. However, I do understand where you're coming from and your opinion makes sense.

Manga's have their own charm :)
At first I found it hard and I thought I would never read any other Manga, but now I've found myself preferring some Manga's over their Anime counterparts.

anime provides sound/ motion/ and a wider audience for the manga... and can also add aspects to the manga's story..

You maybe. Don't speak for others just because you have a lousy imagination. If the animators can imagine it so can anyone else with a decent imagination.
