Tips for increasing PC Security & Performance

Sasuke reporting in >_>
Just gonna give you guys some simple, semi-long tips for speeding up your computer:
1.Removing Visual effects for performance
Right Click on My Computer>Properties>Advanced>Performance Settings>Adjust for best performance - What does this do?
Its pretty simple actually, it will disable the visual effects you see while opening/closing a window, will put some black/blue text behind the names of the icons, but this actually improves performance. If you don't like it but yet want a little speedy-boost then pick "Let Windows Choose whats best for My Computer".

2.Picking the right AV Software
Having an antivirus software is pretty common these days, so there are some nice ones like Avira, avast! Kaspersky... If you would like to get a free version then get Avira or avast!, I went for Avira and they will remove the large pop-up ads on 1.01.2013 which is tomorrow. Scan your computer once a week, or set up a weekly scan schedule and you wont need to bother about scanning your computer again, as the AV will do it for you. However, if you have a horribly slow computer with, something like 512MB RAM then I do not recommend using an AV. Just get a better PC or you will be lagging since most AV need like 50MB RAM memory to be running in the background, which will be slowing down your computer, along with the other 25+ processes.

3.Computer Tools
Just some simple tools you should get, to clean and optimize your PC/Laptop:

CCleaner - Cleans your Temp folder, registry strings which are left over after installing and uninstalling something, and also offers an option for advanced uninstalling of programs you have installed on the machine.

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware - You already have an AV why would you need this? Maybe because it is one of the best scanners in the world? Use this to scan your computer weekly. It will detect 95% of all malware.

HitmanPro 32/64 bit - Oh well, if Malwarebytes is disabled by a virus, and if you can't use the Chameleon option it has, which hides it from the virus and allows it to run while having it, you can always count on HitmanPro, just rename it, hold down CTRL and run it. It will close some processes tho...

COMODO Cleaning Essentials - This is like a folder of some good programs that can also help you keep your PC safe, and also offers a program called COMODO KillSwitch, which shows which processes are malicious and which are safe, and also it is like an improved Windows Task Manager.

Adblock Plus* - Whats the little star for? Because this is actually an add-on for Firefox. It will block all kind of pop-ups and ads, which is pretty awesome. You just need to enable it.

4.Defragmentation - What the heck is this? Let me explain =D
While opening folders, your hard drive's needle has to move from one place to another to find the file and finally open it. You probably install a lot of stuff on your computer, and when not needed uninstall it. However, even if you just take files from a CD/Flash Drive, and put them on your computer, and then delete them, it will be the same process like uninstalling it. They will be put in the Recycle Bin. After you delete them, they are permanently deleted. Then how come Recuva can recover them again? Because they aren't. Most of the time fragments of those files are left and scattered all over your hard drive. Imagine this:

You see that some fragments are left over right? How does this affect your PC speed? This is actually simple. Look at the fragments that got left over. When trying to open another file/folder or whatever will it be, your hard drive's needle needs to keep moving, until it finds those files, and then finally stop. It needs to jump over them, and then start reading again, but instead of finding what you told it, it will have to keep jumping over other left over fragments which are acquired after deleting something. This shortens your hard drives life and speed. So the only way of fixing this is defragmenting. This means putting all files together, so that the needle won't have to jump over, instead it will just have to read. After doing this, here is how the files will look

While defragmenting, which will take probably 2 hours, the hard drive moves the files to where they should be, and puts 'em together. This is actually proven to speed up your PC by 20% if you haven't done that in a long time. It is recommended you do this at least once a month. Doing this will cause no harm to your hard drive, and also, it will not move files and folders you have on your desktop to another place, it will just rearrange the files that are messed up on the hard drive so that it can access them faster and easier. You can defragment by using Windows defragment, located in Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disk Defragmenter. Leave your PC alone and make sure you have disabled your screen saver, and make sure you don't stand-by. This is how everything on your hard drive looks after defragmenting

You can use other programs too, just google them, and imagine that the lines were connected actually. That's how the files would be after defragmenting, since if i would have connected them, some of you might have been confused by now.

ALL IN ONE TOOL - TuneUp Utilities 2014
Just google that one too, and download it. You get a 15 day trial, then you will need to buy it. It will clean your registry, fix errors, defragment and do a lot of stuff, it also features one-click maintenance. Just open that and sit back, it will do all the stuff for you.

5.Upgrade your Hardware[COLOR]
Get a good processor, good RAM and a good GFX card. Why? Getting a good processor, will make your computer run extremely fast and you will not need to format every 3 months, so that it won't lag. The RAM is for having more programs opened at the same time, and also for some games, and the GFX card is actually for some games too... If you don't want to use money, then just overclock everything. Google that too, since people will be like OMG MAN U PUT SO MUCH TEXT **** THIS SHIT I AM NOT READING THIS.

6.Remove all Web Toolbars
You can always use Malwarebytes Anti-Malware to remove them, or you can do it manually by uninstalling them. This will make your PC a lot more faster and I consider all Web Toolbars to be shit, since no one actually uses them.

Pwease note, I will add more tips, and delete some parts which are useless/full of errors.
