How did this occur? Hiruzen was appointed Hokage by Tobirama when he and Danzo were still boys. That also means if Tobirama was Hokage at that point Hashirama was already dead so how does he have memories of Tsunade then?

Hiruzen was 69 when the sannin were 50 making him 19 years older than them. Notice in the picture with Team Hiruzen he looks much older with a full goatee.

All the Sannin graduated the academy at age 6 so assuming they became part of Team Hiruzen at age 6 and Hiruzen was 25, Tsunade should not have even been born for Hashirama to even have memories of her. For that to be possible Hiruzen must have been appointed Hokage at about about age 10 but he looked about 15-16, which would make Tsunade not born yet because he has 19 years over her, Hashirama already dead because Tobirama was Hokage, thus he having no memories of her. No?

Well Hashirama died when she was like 5 and with Hiruzen she was like 13, he was like 17 with Tobirama so 25 with the Sannin

It was never ever mentioned that Tobirama became the hokage after Hashirama's death. Hashirama should have stepped down quite early and possibly may have lived longer than Tobirama did!

Minato was Hokage while Hiruzen still lived.
The manga doesnt state Hashi was dead then.

Well I'm not sure I follow. I hate following Kishi timelines. They tend to run together. I get what you are pointing out, but I can't comprehend the timeline Kishi was trying to portray here.

It looks like the Tsunade Hashirama is remembering is about 4 or 5 years old. true Hiruzen was about 16 when they oppointed him Hokage. Which means if he is 19 years older than Tsunade then he should have been at least 25 at the time she graduated the ninja academy.

So yeah technically, the Tsunade Hashirama should be flashingback about should either not be born or a newborn infant. I see the hole in the timeline here.

Both the First and Second Hokage's died rater young against overwhelming odds protecting the Village in the early years. The 3 Hokage was chosen over Danzo because Danzo idea of peace was total destruction of all other villages and that idea would have kill to many ninjas in the village. Time line is not always clean sines it never started from the founding of the village but from Naruto's birth and Kishi did not have the history already done before the started of the Manga.

P.S. The manga does not state Hashirama was dead at the time. That's your assumption. To this day, it is still unknown when and how he died and Hiruzen and Minato were Hokage at the same time.
