I don't think I am the only one that went !dafuq! when we saw the sage say he was a time traveler.

I mean its such a lame plot device, if it a had been as we assumed that the sage had sealed his chakra into the tailed beasts and would only appear once all 9 have given freely of their chakra it would makes sense alongside some funky seer like abilities I would have said. Cool story bro.

But time travel? Sigh that's so uncomplicated and boring. Its not even a point of interest it just exists. It doesn't add anything to the Sage other than making him out to be an ******* for not fixing everything that went wrong. Lol if he could time travel wouldn't he know his decision to choose Ashura would make Indra go apeshit?

If the sage was just a seer that could seal his chakra for the event of Naruto gathering the tailed beast chakra then it would make sense why he messed up so badly, now it just makes him look uncaring and amoral.

It's his soul that exists through time. He said he is enlightened so maybe he's timeless

And the point is it makes him look like an arsehole, he has given rise to endless war and death. And he didn't think to look forward with his "time walking" ability to see how his decisions would influence people before he made them.

Its just gross negligence from a supremely powerful being. HE doesn't even have the politeness to ACT ashamed.

He is dead it is his consciousness that travels through time. I don't think he can go back and physically change anything

People obviously aren't understanding this, he is time traveling forward in time from his present time when he was alive. He is in essence astrally projecting himself.

Ergo he could have done this before he decided to name Ashura his heir, ergo he should have been more thoughtful rather than rash.

So he's dead and his body doesn't travel through time? Just his souls is always there?

I didn't interpret it like that, I view it as him on his death bed and his consciousness is traveling through time. Ergo he could have likely done this at any time.

Why is that so strange? Kaguya was a godess. Gods exists in all times and spaces, as far as I know, they are omnipotents.

There is nothing "strange" about it, its what it does to their characters that I hate. Now they are just a bunch of unpleasant people who just didn't give a damn about what their actions lead to.

You're way too ahead of the manga then. What makes you think that the 9 taileds beasts chakra were not the keys to meet him during his time travels?

Be patient.

The guy is scamming. His "time travel" is not self initiated and is just a variation of Samsara except instead of rebirth, it is reliving the same lives over and over again not figuratively, but literally. The endless loop that keeps everyone stuck in limbo without the chance of Karmic progression. This guy thinks he is the savior and tries to manipulate events to the desired outcome, however there are certain events that lead to his own creation that have to occur every loop. Naruto's task is to free everyone from the loop so that they can progress according to their Karma. Sasuke's goal is to reveal what is occurring and alert Naruto or failing that put everything back into the loop in hopes of beating the true antagonist in another loop cycle.

Hmm, might make sense with how skeptical Naruto is being about all this.

So for example the creation of Juubidara is an element of the Sages creation that is a part of Samsara?

If you read what he says to naruto, he says he isnt in a position to do anything for naruto (only those outside can do that) all he can do is talk to naruto..

HE could fix things in the past. At no point did he state he was dead. If he was simply a ghost being carried along by the normal march of time Kishi wouldn't have stated that he was "time traveling". Ergo the Sage is an arsehole who could fix things but won't.

I think you are more upset at the fact that you couldn't predict what's going to happen so it's hurting your feelings a little bit. Firstly, the Sage is not a physical entity that can change or affect the future. There's no way he could have "known" how his choice would have played out. He put his beliefs into humanity and cooperation and it didn't work out. He's not a damn time traveler to where he can go to one point into the future and back. He was a form of chakra that flowed through time as it was happening after he died. Secondly who the hell cares if the Sage didn't appear the way every damn person on NB predicted. Now THAT would have been uncomplicated and boring.
