lol you're taking it a bit far. Itachi also used it while practically blind. You simply need the double mangeykou to awaken the susano'o. It's also a manifestation of the users chakra. The idea that one could manifest their chakra (as long as susano'o was previously awakened) isn't absurd. It's actually quite logical.

Also, databooks are updated. No need dismiss everything ever written in it.
