It currently seems that the last few chapters have been a little slow and not much has been going on. I think this is true, but these last few chapters seem to keep setting up new fights. I believe this will continue until each sternritter has an opponent and after that we will get many chapters in a row of cool fights. Hopefully it doesn't drag to long though because more fights are being introduced than I care for (arrancar vs zombies) but hopefully after all is said and done all the fights will be set up and we can read them. I just hope that Kubo can pull this off because very easily it could fall into a bunch of very short uninteresting fights that had too much hype. But I have faith in Kubo, he can do it.
Something to add as well. I feel that with many of the good books I have read (that have multiple character perspectives) the authors of said book get you really hooked with one character perspective (cp from henceforth) and when you start to really get interested in that character that all you want is for that cp to conclude, the author switches it up to another character and you are saddened by this until you get really hooked on the cp they switched to. (I know this sounds like a never ending spree of cliffhangers, but it isnt it works quite well in keeping you interested and the story fresh) I believe that kubo is trying something along the same lines right now. he is setting up an event that you just want to finish but then introduces a new fight and when all is over he will conclude all the fights one after another.
This is quite prone to failure as evidenced by many peoples annoyance when a character appears to "save the day" at the end of each chapter. But hopefully when all the fights are set up we will get 2-3 chapters in a row of each fights and I think we will enjoy it more then.
