It's been a year of serialization and thoughts on the series so far?

It has a lot of potential and the recent arc (spider family arc) was a very strong arc. The characters are great so far with trio (Tanjirou, Zenitsu & Inosuke) and the pillars like Shinobu makes the series fun to read. It's a dark/demon slaying series so I'm interested in seeing the development unfold.

The series seems to be underrated compared to the newer titles (Promised Neverland, Black Clover & ofc My Hero Academia) so if you are hearing about this series for the first time then I recommend giving it a read.

Also, Togashi gave the series a recommendation with the recent volume.

Here is a series synopsis:
The setting is Taisho era Japan. Tanjirou is a kindhearted young boy who lived peacefully with his family as a coal seller. Their normal life changes completely when his family is slaughtered by demons. The only other survivor, Tanjirou's younger sister Nezuko, has become a ferocious demon. In order to return Nezuko to normal and get revenge on the demon that killed their family, the two of them depart on a journey. From a young talent, an adventure tale of blood and swords begins!
In case you were interested the spider family arc starts as early as chapter 28. I know a lot of Bleach, Toriko & even probably Fairy Tail fans are looking for a new shonen series to read so I would recommend checking this series out.

I first came across it through the English Shonen Jump last April. I read the first 3 chapters (the only ones they released) and really liked it. Haven't read since because there's no official translations by Viz. I'm waiting for them to pick it up. But they've instead continuously added in new series, most of which were cancelled.

This series is why i have been checking the rankings ever since i first read it. At first i was worried, hoping it will do well. Now i don't have that worry. The rankings are solid.

Really looking forward to reading again.

It does do well in the rankings and it's improving sales wise too. Also, there's reprints and usually all (or most) of Kimetsu no Yaiba's volumes are in the top 500 in a given week. Last week all the volumes were in the top 500 weekly manga sales.

Volume Sales ranking for the week (Shoseki ranking 2/13-2/19)

2 - One Piece 84
10- My Hero Academia 12
43- The Promised Neverland 02
92- The Promised Neverland 01

211- Kimetsu no Yaiba 02
219- Kimetsu no Yaiba 01

I highly doubt it'll get cancelled anytime soon. Hoping for an anime announcement either at the end of the year or early-mid 2018.

You should read it again. I'm not sure why Viz hasn't picked it up yet.
