Really, you are in the correct one. However, there is nothing wrong with telling someone they're in the wrong section when they are. It disservices the audience who is in a specific forum looking for specific threads. Also, it is (usually unintentionally) a disservice to the OP who isn't reaching their target audience. Once they know, they can request the thread to be moved, which helps all parties involved.
