At least when Madara was revealed to be the mastermind behind Obito, it was hinted for over 300 chapters.

You can't expect them to not have the main villain be Madara after having his name said constantly throughout the manga.


Kaguya literally debut less than 10 chapters ago and is now the final villain who conveniently pulled everyone's strings.


That's not subtle, that's just crammed.

I think Obito was an ok(only ok not great) villain if you scratch out the creepy "I started this war for you Rin". His traits of being like Naruto and walking a darker path gave him a real connection with Naruto as a antagonist.
