I think these flashbacks were tastefully done, for once. Generally, I'm not a huge fan of multi-chapter flashbacks because they seem incredibly uneccessary. This time, however, there was more than enough explaining to do, without making it look forced, and drawn on. Full of completely relevant information, dialogue, and events that were necessary to progress the story.

nothing happened with mito, she sealed the nine-tails in her and sat in bed till kushina became the host. if she was important to the story then sure but if she had a major influence on hashi he would have mentioned her by now, i mean you dont fall in love and marry someone in a week. mito wont be needed till naruto starts questioning his linage.
