I've just read this thread and now i'm thinking about the rumors between Minato and Nagato.

It got me to thinking, who actually would win?

We have Hokage Minato here, who doesn't have KCM or SM, which makes it sound like an easy win for Nagato,

but

We also have an emotionally unstable and inexperienced Nagato, whose most likely only unlocked a few of the Rinnegan abilities from his canon arsenal and has most likely never faced anyone hokage level. (Including Hanzo, because it never happened since Yahiko is still alive, or (spoiler)
was until the recent filler when the village exploded

I think Nagato maybe but Minto's experience can evade anything he throws at him

Nagato inexperience? Nagato was an War Orphan, which should count for something.

And it would probably be a stalemate.

He loses. Nagato is too powerful of a person. And his chakra cloak and bijuu mode can be absorbed by one of the pains. He would have missiles, summonings, and many other powerful pains to deal with.

Disagree... This is 6 Paths of Pain, not Nagato himself and Minato during this time does not have Kurama to begin with.

Minato can summon a lot of toads to begin with, and not mention his sealing jutsus. Minato can throw any kunais around them and instantly teleport anywhere without them even realizing where he is moving to.

For those who think Pain's share visions can see Minato's FTG? Read the manga, the share vision cannot beat someone OP like Minato. Naruto once hit 2-3 of Pains with a mere Rasengan, because he was able to make Pain unable to see where his attacked came from, and with Minato, they get stomped.

Depends how much Nagato honed his abilities. If he's at his peak, then he wins.

Is it? I thought Nagato was healthy in the filler.

I mean his inexperience with using Rinnegan to it's fullest potential. The interval between Yahiko's death (which is when Nagato fully awakened rinnegan's power) and Nagato's fight with Minato seems short. So while he does having a lot of Rinnegan abilities (either that or it would take time for him to awaken it as much as he did in canon) he is inexperienced in/ hasn't learned how to use them efficiently enough. As said above, theres is a short time between his awakening of rinnegans abilities and his fight with Minato, not enough time to learn how to use his new found powers effectively. Hence, inexperienced.

Don' assume that this is 6 paths of pain. Nagato just fully awakened his rinnegan abilities (a causative of Yahiko's death) he probably hasn't even had enought ime to learn how to produce chakra rods yet.

According to the summary of episode 447, it says that Pain confronts Minato and Tsunade which is very possible for him to appear, not Nagato.

^ Then Minato can realistically take it.

It would be a close fight.

I can't see how Pain wins, because Minato has reaction speed and intelligence. When Pain uses Chou Shinra Tensei, he need to deactivate the rest of the Paths which makes it more easier for Minato to get close to Deva Path and teleport him away before the blast starts to blow, and btw it takes preparation to use CST, and Minato will not stand still there and watch like what Tsunade did once, but later figured out.

With Minato, he can fly high up in the sky, since he is the yellow flash.
Pain cannot use any jutsus when he is ready for CST, so basically, the amount of time he needs to perform, the faster Minato gets to strike back.

Imo once Minato tags him, it's over.
