Naruto is basically bullying Madara now, this is why Madara is starting to sound like a investigator. He's asking all these stupid questions about Naruto's changes. He is amazed how powerful he got.

Madara will get his other rinnegan and be even more powerful. He's gotta get it. Kishimoto wouldn't just talk about the ultimate power and not show us it. A Naruto will give him a run for his money for sure, but not without the help f Sasuke.

By the way Naruto's my favorite character so I'm not just some Madara fanboy.

Another possibility is your somewhat right they'll be equally powerful, and Sasuke will take on whoevers in spiral Zetsu. Which I believe is hashiramas child by the way. I'm saying this because Hashirama, and Tsunade are such major character's, but we haven't seen his child/her parent, which only makes sense because Kishimoto is saving him/her for a big reveal/plot twist.
