Viz media said there's only going to be one volume of naruto gaiden so there'll be no more than seven chapters supposedly. But yeah just extra chapters leading up to the boruto movie.

It's over by summer in Japan, that also includes the movie. I'll finish a bit early like Naruto did with The Last, so probably 10-13 chapters long it'll be.

I would love a full fledged new series but at this stage it seems like it will just be a mini series with like 15 or less chapters total.
