(Migatte no GokuiChō hon'nō) Mastery of Self-MovementUltra Instinct
Type: Supplementary/ Defensive
Rank: N/A
Range: Short
Chakra: N/A
Damage: N/A
Description: An advanced Taijutsu art, based on the martial art of "(Mushin) Empty Mind", a mental state where the body reflexively reacts without the need of having any specific input from the practitioner, resulting in such refined levels of instinct and intuition to a level where they can respond to any threat without the need for thought. This is achieved via an intense level of training, wherein one is endlessly bombarded with incredibly fast, yet weak strikes, until they eventually grasp the concept of "self-movement", where each part of the body seemingly acts independently of the user's own will. It teaches one to abandon the practice of "thinking before moving", and simply initiate "moving without thinking". This is incredibly useful, as messages from the brain can only move through the nervous system to one's body parts so fast, subsequently losing precious time in combat that add up with every consecutive movement and action. This technique does not increase, or grant any kind of additional boost to the user's movement, tracking or reaction speed in any sense. Instead, it is akin to an automated defensive stance that allows the user to effectively negate any incoming physical attack that they can, visually or otherwise, register, without actually thinking about performing the actions. The body moves, almost as if on it's own accord, to respond to incoming attacks, and attempts to negate, redirect, or counter them in the most logical manner, before proceeding to intercept the next attack. A perfect idiom to describe this stance is "The lights are on, but no one is home", as the user is clearly responding to external threats, yet doesn't always seem entirely "present". One of the many benefits to this technique is that it is purely physical, and, by it's very nature, requires little to no input from the user themselves, especially in regards to their Chakra flow. As their body is reacting instinctively, rather than with directed motions and a proper input from the user themselves, they're free to use their heads to perform other actions, such as analysing attack patterns, potential weak points, and formulate and initiate proper counter attacks, etc. There are significant drawbacks to this technique as well however as, by it's very nature, it can only allow the user's body to react to actions and attacks that they can witness. This means the user cannot use this technique against attacks faster than they can track or logically register due to speed, but also attacks of a deceptive nature, or attack the user in some unregisterable manner, such as attacks that cannot be physically seen, like "Frog Kumite", or attacks that strike outside the user's field of vision. However, in the case of techniques that are directly applied via physical actions, such as in the case of a Shinobi driving a Rasengan into the body of their opponent, the user can divert this incoming threat by redirecting the physical motions of the opponent's strike, "countering" the Rasengan without making physical contact with it, or even ending the technique. [SUP][ ][/SUP] Finally, entering into this stance does not constitute the usage of one of the user's 3 Jutsu per turn, however, if this technique is used to defend against another Jutsu, every instance of a successfully defended technique does consume one of the user's allotted Jutsu from their next turn. When used to defend against freeform actions and movements, no Jutsu slots are consumed. This can, in most cases, force a stalemate in close-quarters combat centric fights, as neither party gains any ground, or inflicts damage upon the other.

Note: Can only be used for a max of 3 turns, and user must wait 3 turns between usages.
Note: Can only be taught by Iᴍᴘᴇяғᴇᴄᴛ, and can only be used by Biographies with a Taijutsu specialty.

Initially taking all the blows due to the blinding speed, Kai began trying to study the punches Shayde was throwing, eventually becoming able to predict the movements and as he was able to due so, Kai also began redirecting Shayde's punches. Catching one punch, Kai would catch the punch with his left hand and simultaneously with his right hand, forcefully hit Shayde's arm. Turning his whole body in the process. "You see that???! My body moved on its own!"

As his body was spun around, instead of fighting the manoeuvre, he went with it, "leaning into the skid" as it were. As he did, on the return rotation, Shayde transitioned into far more powerful and serious, yet slower and more predictable attacks, as if he was beginning to ramp up his apparent random assault, and strike at the young man with a more serious disposition. As he did so, he gave a sly, amused smile, asking Kai;

"Really? Well, care to explain why and how your body's moving on it's own?"

Looking into the fellow Uchihas eyes, Kai's body was reacting seemingly on his own, shocking him greatly. "It seems as if my body has a mind of its own. I'm thinking of counters but my body is dodging and countering with much better accuracy than I could have had I needed to think about my movements first. To put simply, my body is moving out of instinct." As Kai is speaking his face shows no expression but his body is moving, swaying around Shayde's punches with ease.

To put simply, my body is moving out of instinct." As Kai is speaking his face shows no expression but his body is moving, swaying around Shayde's punches with ease.
Shayde's smile widened more as Kaishi tried his best to fathom exactly what was happening. While the most important point was there, that his body was instinctively moving on it's own, Shayde felt to deprive him of the complete extent of this technique's details would be a disservice, so he revealed the greater truths to this "Mastery of Self-Movement". The formation of Kai's "Ultra Instinct"...

"It's not just accuracy. While your mind is formulating counters and strategies to combat my attacks, your body is automatically, or more specifically, instinctively initiating them, before you can even finish the thought, before moving on to the next one. Individually, it doesn't amount to much, but it removes the need for the thoughts to travel from your brain, through the nervous system, and into each individual limb, saving a lot of time over the space of one single fight, and an unfathomable span of time over the course of a lifetime. Another thing you should realize is that, because your body is moving on it's own, you don't even need to think about responding to my attacks, your body does it all on it's own. You could plan for the long term, instead of wasting time responding to what's happening now. You shouldn't be thinking "How should I counter this punch?", you should be thinking "How can I turn this punch, or that kick, or the following pivot to my advantage?".

As Shayde ramped up the attacks, increasing both the speed and ferocity, while mixing the pattern up, throwing in an element of unpredictability, he watched as Kai could easily keep up, but only to a certain extent. At which time, the young one would find himself taking blows intermittently. This was the undoing of this technique, and the last part of it Shayde had to impart on the rapidly learning youth.

"But as you can see, this isn't an absolute defence... If I were to attack you with a series of attacks that are beyond your comprehension, like I am now, with blows meant for Shinobi of a higher rank, your body, while knowing how to respond, can't quite keep up. You have to keep your own capabilities in mind, and that also extends to..."

Before Shayde even finished his sentence, Kaishi would find the back of his head struck with a swift strike from behind, by a Clone Shayde had created before engaging the young man.

"Attacks you can't see coming. From attacks that are invisible, such as the Nature Energy enhanced strikes of Frog Kumite, a unique Fighting Style known to the user's of Sage Mode, to something as simple as an opponent sneaking up behind you, if you yourself can't see the attack coming, or are otherwise aware of it, your body can't even try to register it until it's far too late. There are ways to increase your own field of perception, like I can with my Sharingan, and others can through varying means, such as the enhanced field of vision granted by the Byakugan, or Chakra Sensory. Expanding your own "bubble" of perception increases just how much this "Ultra Instinct" can comprehend, and thus, react to."

With a laboured sigh, and his last strike unfolding into an extended hand, Shayde would impart the last segment of knowledge required to understand the technique.

"Finally... Simple actions require simple movements to intercept. However, if you find yourself bombarded with more complex movements and actions, you may just find yourself stuck in an endless loop, always on the defensive, with no chance to respond. In these cases, it might not be the worst idea to try and withstand an attack, in an attempt to break the cycle. And who knows? You might just surprise your opponent with this willingness to accept a blow or two, after so many evasive manoeuvres, catching them unawares, allowing you to deliver one last strike to end it all."

With one last deep exhalation, Shayde calmed himself, looking right back into Kai's eyes, as he watched the faintest flicker of silver, not crimson, envelop his eyes. An oddity to say the least, but one that didn't seem to be permanent... For the moment, as far as he was concerned, Shayde's work was done. But there was one last matter to attend to...

"Well, I think that's me pooped, but if you've got any questions, I'm all ears."

As he waited for any form of query, Shayde walked a few meters away to a nearby rock, and decided to take a load off. It'd been quite some time since he went all out, and for a complete novice of an ability they had no idea they possessed to intercept that many full-force strikes from him? It was rather surprising. Surprising, and tiring...

Nope no questions

Kai looks at his hands in awe, feeling the intensity leaking from him. His chakra felt stronger than ever before. He clenched his fist tight and pointed at Shayde. "I've got a feeling we'll be seeing more of each other from now on. Until then, thank you." Kai vanished in a large explosion which was actually just a harmless visual Genjutsu that Kai had cast on Shayde.
