I understand in the case of Mito but were there honestly no male Uzumaki capable of hosting the Kyuubi in regards to Kushina? How bout Yugito?

because there's some peoples whose chakras mix with it and then some whose don't... it gets dark for them due to being shunned by the whole clan and they need something to feel the void... remember when the previous 8 tails jinchuriki was telling A he needs to show love to killer bee

I would assume because becomming a Jinjuriki has more to do with compatability than it does with Gender.

For example, it took several hosts for Gyuki (Hachibi) to find a suitible partner in Killer Bee. Gaara was also noted to be "compatable" with Shukaku.

So I'd say it is a matter of compatibility. Also, it is also unlikely for Jinjuriki to find love because they are inherintly dishoned by the very people they are around (based on Kushina, Naruto, Killer Bee, and Gaara's pasts).
