As the guy above said if Oda didn't draw characters like cartoonish then OP would have been easily one of the darkest theme manga out there.
It already showed Corruption, Torture, Slavery, Mental/Sexual Harrassment, Genocide, Patricide, Fratricide, Mutilation, Black mailing, Smugling, Chemical weapon, Black Market, Assassination, Rape attempt etc.

What was dark about Naruto, really? Madara never killed any characters :| people hype him to be some kind of god yet he couldn't kill one kage, neither did Sasuke or Naruto kill anyone, the series was never dark to begin with.

Yeah, Bad news, Kishimoto doesn't care anymore about Boruto, he considers Naruto as a serie and Boruto as another serie and he won't spend time working on it.
It's gonna be childish, with poor art and without respect to the Naruto manga...
