An image of a completely blissed-out cat looking as if it had gotten into a big bag of what's now legal in four states, was posted by the animal's owner with the message: "I just bought my cat a pound of catnip...good kitty," recently.
Not surprisingly, it's caught the attention of thousands and thousands of Internet viewers around the world who can't stop laughing. Of course, some were concerned that the feline was in danger.

Catnip, a member of the mint family, provides a calming effect similar to chamomile when sipped as a tea, but it's best known for its effect on cats.
Scientists still aren't exactly sure what it is about catnip that drives cats wild, but, they've said, the reaction to it is genetic. So not all cats will look like this one when they've snuck into a pile of the green stuff.
