Children are being risky online..

Many children aged 9 to 11 are being very risky online, suggests a survey.

More than one thousand primary school children took part in the research, and it suggests 1 in 5 of them had met someone in person after being in contact online.

Many are sharing personal information and playing games rated for much older children.

They also believe 22% of 9 - 11 year olds had been online after 9pm.

The research has been carried out by the charity Safe and Secure Online.

Late nights

The survey also asked children about the amount of time they were spending online and what they got up to.

It found that 43% went online everyday and 46% spent more than two hours each time they browsed.

Many (22%) regularly used it after 9pm and a small percentage, 7%, were still online after midnight. Some children said that their concentration in class had suffered because of the late nights.

And why? Because and I quote:

"He said: "Youngsters actually participate in a lot of risky behaviours that I don't believe the parents know about," he said. "Not because of any ill will on behalf of the parents, it's just that the parents do not understand technology." "

This is so sad, I or you guys might have been chatting and flirting with kids between the age of nine to 11.

Meh, kids will be kids, they're always going to do stupid shit. I don't flirt with nobody I don't already know so no worries there lol. And no shocker that kids are online after 9, is that really even a newsworthy problem?

Parents are way to easy these days. A good old fashion ass wooping, or sitting down with them and tell them how shit really is. I remember when kids were smarter than that. It all goes down to how lazy people have gotten and the we need to have those important values the our parents taught us to continue to having functional citizens.

Err, to be honest I was out much much later than that when I was a kid, never mind in bed. Doing that kinda thing is kind of a rite of passage for kids is it not?

kids were put in danger the moment they are born honestly... Its because some parents are selfish and in denial or lazy , too lazy to really dig deep into their kids minds and behavior to give them the proper study and understanding of life and the automatic dangers of being here.. or there.

Yeah sure, if flirting with random people on the internet is what you do, than I guess there is a chance you could have flirted with a youngster.

Nah man, kids these days ''try'' to catch up with the ''COOL'' things. For example you're super cool if you swear an older person ( Yes this is a cool thing these days ) Thats why you go online and see kids swearing surprising stuff ( Example 2- MotherF***, SUCK MY D!(K and so on )

LOL this >.> They "try", those '' '' were used in the right place, lol...

I guess children are becoming smarter somehow to...WHAT? Your example 2 was...OMG! :| Anyway...children have to be just that: children. It's not right if one goes beyond the age standard behavior...Oh, of course accepted behavior can change according to time & place, but still it has got some limits everywhere...
