This is the worst "Gaming Generation" ever

Today, this generation of gamers is the worst. I don't know if it has something to do with games being more social, or what. But, it is not how It used to be.

Back in the day, let's say a game like street fighter, people picked their characters, and did what they had to win. games took skill. You wanna pull off a long combo marvel vs Capcom 1 and 2? that took skill. Shooting games too skill, it wasn a bunch of over powered guns and auto aim. You actually had to aim and shoot.

Now, all todays games have been dumbed down for the dumb kids. Everything. From fighting games to shooting and racing games. They destroyed marvel vs Capcom. look at it, its a disgrace to marvel and Capcom. they dumbed it down. Halo 4, dumbed it down. EVERYTHING IS DUMBED DOWN!!


WHY??? Because all these kids do is complain, complain, complain. Name one day of online where you actually had fun playing with randoms that didn't moan and complain?? I can't think of too many. Now a days, everyone wants people to do easy stuff. Oh don't use that gun, don't use that team, its too OP. LIKE SERIOUSLY!! Too OP?? Freaking pathetic, anyone who complains about a strategy being OP is not a real gamer. Anyone who cant take a lose, is not a real gamer.
What happen to the friendly competition days, where we all said GG, and that was fun, he is a tough player. Not, oh he is cheap, blah blah blah. Pathetic.

Explain to me, why do I have to pick a weak team or gun or slow car??? to give YOU a chance to win? seriously? that's not what gaming is. You have all destroyed the true meaning of gaming and made it into something dead. Millions play games, but only thousands are true gamers.

Any thoughts on this? Are you one of the people I just described? Or are you a true gamer with sportsmanship and strategy.

no it has not always been this way. Games at one point where very fun competitions. I used to love all the marvel vs Capcom tournies in the mall. All the perfect dark tournes, yugioh and pokemon. It was fun then. now its all complains and weakness

i think it's because now basically EVERYONE can google the best possible choice for you, for example in Pokemon, it used to be about what you felt in your gut or the ones you liked, now you can just search for all their stats, so for example, you won't see many Blastoises because everyone is just gonna take Charizard (ok, that is bad example, cause almost no one loves Blastoise but people love Charizard)

I like Blastoise :'( but yeah, nowadays people can google the best strategies. Quite annoying how everyone you ever play with online has the same strategy regardless of the game (most of the time).

I agree with the bold 100%, i mean if a gun is available in the game then its usable to kill for effin sake like they cry and rage over losses and start complain.

I watch a lot of Husky Starcaft and stuff so it's crazy how amazing those people are.

Well it's true gaming changed a lot.. when i was kid i had nintendo 8 bit and then came slow ass internet connection.. i've also played alot outside football and such.. it's true that kids still do this (more rarely, believe or not).. but kids today have all kind of stuff they just have to press button to get something, Games just lost soul.. that's pretty much it. And most important.. i stilll play only 8-bit and pool on internet that's pretty much my gaming today cuz im rarely at home.

That's why when you play campaign/career mode, just use the hardest diff. EG Veteran fo CoD. Cause that'd facilitate your needs. But nonetheless, you're right. It's been dumbed down; but mostly I agree with how you addressed

This is why I play the crap out of story driven single player games.

No one can dare say that CoD's online multiplayer can hold a candle to such masterpieces like Kingdom Hearts or Mass Effect. Story driven RPG's beat out cheating, lagging idiot kids any day!!

I do enjoy Naruto online, but far too many people use try hard characters like Kiba or Masked Man, so I play it in moderation so I don't literally blow my brains out.

Games being dumbed down is a direct influence from younger gamers saying a game is too hard, but creators have to try and appeal to them as they make up most of their profits. They can make a hardcore that the die hard fans will love, but not universally sell, or a dumbed down game that many will sell. If you were a developer which would you homestly chose?

All in all I sort of agree with the OP, but others have made valid points. I'll stick to Kingdom Hearts if you don't mind.

true,Not to say,that we have to complete the entire freaking games in one go,from start to end,without cheats or another chance,like life.
Eg- MS-DOS Prince of Persia.I mean,you have just 1 hr,1 life,1 chance.Screw it up at any stage and start again.....
yeah,we are few who have the luxury of playing damn good and tough games....
and since games are too tough,we proudly say that I LOST at this stage,and still used to get compliments from others,and in fighting games,it was like real game man,And to completely hit a combo,felt like heaven.
Eg- Tekken 3.....

Now-a-days,games are too easy.It just took me like 3 days or less to complete a game,without losing a life even once.
The only game that was tough and good,of todays generation,was DARKSOULS.
