lol out of pity the girl was just so obessed he felt sorry for her and just because they call each other husband or wife doesn't mean they married seems to me they separated thats why he said they only connection is sarada and he uses the excuse of him being on a mission to keep sakura from killing herself over him not being there and also to look after sarada
