Gai has done his part, and his Night Moth will be an amazing finish to his attempts to stop Madara. Without healing powers, even juubi madara would have been toast from this, and knowing Night Moth pierces him next chapter, most definitely.

Gai's 8 gates was always going to be meant as a stall for Naruto and Sasuke to finish him.

EVERYONE is either down or out of chakra or has no chance, Gai will be down after this, and Naruto and Sasuke just got the biggest power up of their lives.

Seeing as physical harm can't seem to keep him down, another path will be used to defeat him.
Be it Ninshuu somehow(I know not meant for fighting) or something else....

What I'm hoping is that without the holy tree, chakra gets taken away from everyone. Everyone is the same.

I'm still holding out for a final battle between Naruto and Sasuke. It seems like such a shame for Kishi to have built up hype for it for so many years and then not do anything with it. I have a hard time believing Sasuke gave the Sage an answer similar to Naruto's. No doubt Sasuke himself still wants to test his ideals against Naruto's in combat, as was hinted when we saw when him use Susanoo to stop Obito from killing Naruto. It has been said multiple times throughout the series that their feelings are best conveyed through their fists. I don't see them reconciling purely through words.
