If its not mentioned again (no chance, thats our next big plot twist) its because it had no purpose.

A lot of the kids in here forget that Kishi has been writing longer than some of you have been alive. He knows what hes doing he wrote one of the most successful mangas ever produced. Even
kishimoto's twin brother writes his own manga. Trust in Kishimoto and wait like the rest of us. I have HIGH HOPES for the Sage's brothers story. Enjoy.
