We were discussing this very same topic in another forum and a guy on there said that the reason why saitama achieved his immense strength (he even went as far as to say that this was the explanation for his power in the webcomic made by ONE) was because when god created humans he put a limiter on them. This limiter limits the humans to only do what humans are capable of. But since Saitama's training regimen (which consisted of a hundred push ups, sit ups, no ac etc.) was so brutal, it "broke" his "limiter". His power is probably limitless. He oneshots Whis and Beerus combined even if they fused.

Pretty cool. I actually remember reading about this months ago but couldn't pinpoint the source...
