Come on. How can anybody believe Kishi was sitting at home "Waaaah, I made Madara too strong, I can't beat him!!!"

He obviously said that to fire up the fanbase. As if any author would give away plot developments like this, as if he would say "Eh, Madara is not really the fv, Kaguya, the true villain will soon completely fodderize him!".

And besides, it's not like Naruto/Sasuke were losing to Madara. In fact, they were pummeling him around, and even after he pulled out everything he had, namely tons of giant meteors and Limbo clones, they countered it with pretty low difficulty.
