Lol Madara never seems to be in despair and besides 2 chapters ago he was a bit anxious about Obito's evolution and he implied that he had to use his trump card before the situation runs out of control. Yet he just went to fight Hashirama as if time wasn't an issue.

I think his 'time limit' is Obito initiating the Infinite Tsukiyomi himself. Both of them want to be 'the God' of that new world. So as long as Obito's busy toying around with Naruto, Sasuke, and the Hokage, he's got plenty of time. Also, it's likely that Madara's using this opportunity to observe Obito to understand his new abilities before he engages him himself.

Maybe but putting himself in a battle doesn't really give him time to analyze anything. Instead, he could stay back and watch if he wanted to do that.

Unless he has a particular reason for engaging Hashirama. He and Madara are the only individuals capable of suppressing and controlling the Tailed Beasts. So it could be that Madara wanted to take Hashirama out of the battle before he could attempt it. Besides, Ninja can multi-task.

Well, it could be that Madara is aware of something that Obito isn't, maybe there are drawbacks to being the Juubi Jinchuriki that Obito isn't aware of.

I think its obvious Madara can kick the Juubi out of Obito whenever he wants just like Sasuke can do to Naruto. Thats why he isnt worried.
