People do death threats and crap any time they're ticked of on popular internet sites, and I've seen enough of the Naruto fanbase to know that there are many very self-delusional views on the manga. Rabid pairing tards exist in every fandom, a while ago death threats were issued to an animator for supposedly messing up a "pairing moment" because the mouth line was a bit flat

You are seeing one such page right now, had NH/SS not become canon we would have a dozen of such pages as the combined fandom is far far bigger than NS alone

The Irony is...from what I have encountered from both sides over the years...that It would be just as bad if Kishimoto had gone the alternate route and chose a Naruto/Sakura ending.

I think the case here is that almost nobody expected NH/SS to happen at the same time. While I personally consider myself a fan of NH I didn't ever think it would become a reality, NS fans on the other hand claim that Naruto and Sakura had the development going on and an NS end would have made much more sense in that regard. Now I can imagine that if the opposite had happened plenty of NH and SS fans would have dropped the issue, but with SS happening Sakura's development never moved an inch forward and NH isn't that bad but it's kind of lacking in development (but I always say quality > quantity)
