I really do not know. This gives Kishi a great avenue to shine with this manga but I've lost faith. I have a feeling it's going to be a sweet ending like everyone hold hands and project their feelings to naruto who will break the juubi in alf and happily ever after everyone lives.

Madara's Moku Bunshin would be enough to overwhelm the alliance as it is now, when Obito returns, it should still be pretty even, especially since the Juubi is on their side. If he wanted, he could have slaughtered the whole allianca by now, but instead, Kishi decided to make him sit down like a retard, and watch while the good guys destroy his plans.

I just got off the phone with Near. He says:

Pay close attention to what's going on. Everybody has a weakness. Madara's weakness is his self-image. He's sitting by waiting so that when he shows Hashirama his new power, there will be noone else in the way. No excuses. Madara can finally best Hashirama once and for all with the power he discovered all too late. Sasuke is the next Madara. He's rejoining the alliance for many reasons, but one sticks out like a sore thumb to me: To power up his sharingan the way Madara did. He also wants to get as many major players off the board as possible. He could've just joined Madara and Obito, but then he would never get a chance to best Naruto head up. This is far from the end. He still has the Kajukai Kōrin, Mokuryū, and the Moku Bunshin at his side, all of which would be immensely useful when taking care of the alliance. The fact that the Maku Bunshin can use the techniques of the original also advantage him greatly.

You underestimate the capabilities of the Susano'o. 25 Wood Clones with the complete Susano'o would be a great threat to the shinobi alliance, and for every clone destroyed, Madara can simply make another one, while hiding his original self in the trees of the Mokuton.

I think the Kages did fine they did destroy parts of him i believe 2x but its hard to kill whats dead and regenerates and they were fighting basicly Madara/hashirama. If madara was alive they would of killed him both those times
