Explosives tags are put on the kunai and as the name implyes they blow up.To do this you need to perform a single hand seal to detonate them.They can be used for offensive and in a way defensive ways.By defense I mean set them up in the area so when the opponent trys to get in short range of you you can detonate them to stop him.After like 2-3 moves people forget about them so they can come in usefull.Its pretty clear why they can be used for offense.I also like the combo with gale palm(i think thats what it is) where you send them speeding forward and the if the enemy lets it get into short range you can still detonate it simply cause the enemy would be in the radius.It wouldnt kill them but it would definetly make the flinch and give you a bit of an advantage for your next jutsu

Two more ideas I'd like to emphasize upon, one being attaching explosive tags to clones and sending them forward (just like exploding Kage Bunshin) and there is also a special Ninjutsu technique that makes them invisible. You can have them explode close on impact to your enemy.
Another one would be getting into physical combat with your opponent and then sneakily slipping a tag onto their body. You can blow their face off.

Once again I gather chakra throughout my body as I look at you creating a clone of yourself.Once I gather a good amount of chakra I release it upon your clone and drag him into the genjutsu.I throw an ET kunai at him but make him think its a clone.As the clone goes to strike the illusion I perform the snake hand seal and the ET kunai blows up and the clone goes poof.

So, when a clone advances, it directs their attention on the clone, allowing you to pull off more moves. And especially because this is a Genjutsu, and you can conceal sound, you can cook up a strong move while they are focused on the clone, such as Rasenshuriken. Sound is another important aspect of battling, and it usually alerts us to one jutsu or the other.

Very good. And keep in mind the stress that this Genjutsu causes upon your opponent - but there's also a strategy whereupon you can utilize this jutsu when your opponent is running at you in a straight line - especially if pulling off a Taijutsu attack.

This would be a pretty cool combo with an underground attack like stone spikes.I feel if I used a straight forward attack the enemy would just find a way to use a jutsu to move out of the way while when spikes come from the underground he should already be looking up on how to defend from the fire.

That's an interesting combo, HOWEVER, this is not the main concept behind this jutsu. Have I taught you cause and effect? Remember what I told you about the first Genjutsu?

Well since its a fireball the enemy thinks its a fire jutsu so they counter with a water jutsu while I then use a earth to counter the water since its the waters weakness.
But considering that this isnt a straight forward attack and rather one from the upwards direction I felt it was safer to go from the bottom since the enemy will release the water jutsu into the air leaving them open on the ground.No real sense in me going through the trouble of releasing an earth attack from the sky when that option is available right?

Well, most Earth jutsus actually do start from the ground unless stuff like dropping lid or something. xD Perfect answer. Genjutsu is all about playing with the mind of your opponent to get them to react the way you want them to.

I guess it would cause confusion at the start,the confusion of the clone simply going towards him.It also catches the enemy by surprise when he explodes and diverts there atention for a moment creating an opening for an attack.I guess the sudden explosion could also make the opponent scared for a moment.
