(A quick warning, if you're a Sasuke fan then i suggest you just skip this thread)

What has happened in this chapter today is still ringing as a complete shock to me, in a negative way!

Uchiha Sasuke, the very same person that almost caused a massive conflict between Konoha and the Hidden Cloud, the one responsible for the murder of Danzo, and the one that has caused Naruto and the rest of the village so much pain in for the majority of Shippuden and lastly joined the Akatsuki, is suddenly being pardoned as if almost all of his previous crimes did not happen at all.

As happy as i am on the rest of the chapter, such as Naruto's reunion with Minato(and his amazing Nine-Tailed Chakra Mode even without being a Jinchuriiku himself) along with Hashirama and Madara finally duking it out and lastly Minato pointing out Sakura's similarities with Kushina(which i'm pretty sure is making the NaruSaku fans happy.). I just can't blatantly accept that in one single chapter suddenly Sasuke "becomes a good guy" without any act of redemption or apologies of his previous heinous crimes against the village. The chance that we'll never see the "destined" battle between Naruto and Sasuke anymore.

It didn't look like Sasuke was being pardoned by Konoha11 from the looks of it. Though even if they aren't, they shouldn't fight about this until after they defeat the End Boss and clean out their drawers.

I guess none of us took this into account, but sasuke will get pardoned as long as the edo hokages are on his side. If hashirama, Hiruzen, and minato say "forgive this uchiha", then the village will do it.

Me and my brother read the manga together, and we both thought that either this was a set-up, and Sasuke is lying, or he really wants to become hokage, and Naruto and Sasuke are gonna fight each other for the title, but end up with both of them on the same team, helping each other.

I think you're right about the Co-Hokage thing, but they are still going to fight and maybe it ends in a stalemate or something.

Sasuke's statement may look sudden but It did the job- think about the reason what it did-

It broke ice and saved him long speech about what he wants. The panel showing Itachi's words to Naruto was the explanation. It is not about the position of hokage. It's the acknowledgement that he is there and is going to try to make a place for himself among them again.

The current situation of both guys is somewhat opposite than the start of the manga- Naruto needed to make his place then and now It's Sasuke who will have to prove himself and he is willing to work for it.

Whether he becomes one or not is secondary. Just my two cents.

From the sound of it they have no intention of pardoning him.

He didn't commit treason against his village or join a terrorist organization. He also didn't kill a Kage.

The Hokage are not going to kill people from their own village or allied villages. Tobirama wanted to kill Sasuke if you recall.
