I think (in Obito's case) that he could transfer himself to the other dimension, but he couldn't use the phase ability of Kamui. I imagine Madara is the same way.

Juubi jinks are immune to non sage attacks.

Obito's Kamui isnot a sage attack meaning that it wouldnot work on him.


Madara has Hashiramas sage mode meaning his attacks are senjustu empowered. Meaning that when he used Kamui it was sage chakra powered allowing it to effect him

Madara used sage mode Kamui
You can go to the other dimension but you can't phase through attacks
Madara used kakashis version of Kamui
